Southend to play West Ham - Tuesday August 3rd

Makes me laugh when you go on the wet spam message boards and they say things like.

" I only live ten minutes from roots hall so im going to give the southend pikeys some stick" Mate your local and support west ham, you are a local pikey.

" Southend are a joke and should be grateful they have us coming down, they only get like 3500 every week"

" Once we fill the away end we will fill there ground. I reckon it will kick off like last time and we can laugh at them "

If there is trouble against the mockneys it will be the clubs fault for selling tickets to the wrong people. They were given 2700 seats

Not going to this one. If our club will do nothing to segregate us then i won't buy the ticket. And they won't.
Well done every Shrimper that puts up with those Spammers next to you in the home stands, but it ain't for me.
Shame, i wanted to see the team.

I shall have to bring the detergent with me to the Stockport game now.

It'd have been nice if the club had a proper Blue Voice section advertised for this, so all SUFC fans could congregate in that one bit, at least would reduce the risk of being surrounded by Spammers. Likewise I will probably not go because the condescending Southend-based scummers rile me too much.

1. So what, are you afraid of them?. They are no different to you.
2. Poor excuse for not supporting your team.
I will be there in my normal seat in V block cheering on the lads, and for all our so called fans making excuses for not attending then shame on you.

Surely these comments should be filtered through to whoever within SUFC has pursued this friendly?

Yes, OK, I know money is what we need right now but as proved above it's not the glittering pay-day some might think (unless & I guess that Wet Spam are the sort of club who would spin this for their own PR if they had forfeited any appearance fees).

The mockneys who will show up couldn't give a monkeys about SUFC. They only half-care it's the closest all season they will get to Kieron Dyer.

Shame on me? We clearly have different ideas on what is shameful. I think the consideration of not attending a pre-season friendly is far from shameful.

As for the Spammers, no, but I've grown up with loads of these 'fans' who live in Southend and do nothing but slag off our team. These same people will probably be sitting in my season ticket seat on Tuesday night because they're such **** fans of their own team that they cannot think to buy one of the 2,700 away tickets.

I guess despite buying a season ticket despite knowing full-well I will miss over half the games, not going to this friendly would make me a 'so called fan'. So be it, then. I don't need your approval.

EDIT: GlasgowSUFC is spot on.

I will be there in south upper, don't give a **** about west ham fans being in our ground im gonna support my team as usual. Why are people worried about West ham fans being being there? I dont give a toss about them.

We are 3 leagues below West Ham so to them we are a little club, and their fans have every right to think that and as far as im concerned as long as they dont want a fight can sit wherever they like. We play many pre season matches over the years with clubs 3 leagues or less below us in the football structure. I have been to many of these matches and sat wherever ive like (or mostly stood) and ive heard many of our fans giving it the Billy big balls to their fans and taking the p**s. So what is the difference.

Last time we played Southend we did not have Block V as Blue Voice . Surely block V will end up being 'ours' . Even if there are spam fans in it they will be outsung , and THEY will fill uncomfortable. All the people who are not going becasue of West hams fans in the home stand spoiling the atmosphere, isn't the answer to go to V for one match or even the back of the family stand assuming Bluebeard will be there?

Apologies if I have missed the point

That'll be my plan if I go.

Im in my usual seaso seat in the v block. If your thinking of not coming then go to this block or close by and lets create a great atmosphere and show them spammers that we do have great support.

You know what, i might just do this. I'll be no-where near my seaso seat in the East, it'll feel like an away game!
Is there a bar in the West?
Well done Tommy, you got my vote. Feckin hate Spammers.

Technically yes, although I've had some bad experiences in there.... don't rely on actually getting a nice cold beer in there! :)

I think Beardoblue has a good point here.

The bar in the west is open atleast an hour before k.o and is no thrills but you can drink on the concourse outside obviously weather permitting.

The only gripes i have with that bar is that they may still be using that cashless system and card still but you can grab a card of the top up vendors and also the bar doesnt open its doors until the half time whistle has gone.

Does anybody know why this bar only opens once the whistle has gone at half time yet all the other bars in the ground are open before and after the whistle?

Give it a go shrimp and two veg. I used to have a seaso in the east greens but wouldnt return now.

I very rarely miss home friendlies but will give this one a miss. I attended the previous match against them and spent a most unenjoyable afternoon sitting near Spammer fans who were there in numbers in the East Stand arrogantly wearing their shirts in our "home" end. (Imagine them doing that at the New Den!)
Does anyone remember that awful stall selling West Ham trash in the piece of land near the Golden Lion?
I really don't want to spend a few hours just seething with anger. The only thing that would make me attend is if SUFC made a statement that anyone wearing West Ham colours would not be allowed in the East, South and West stands. (This should apply to league games also)

This is exactly how I feel, even at eastbourne yesterday there were people wearing west ham shirts, I don't understand, why wear their shirt when watching southend, I get REALLY angry about this, fine if you feel the need to support 2 or more teams, (though why you would do this is beyond me) but please don't wear their colours, or here's a novel idea why not go and watch west ham play :madman:
I still wouldn't go, whatever promises were made, because I know as soon as west ham scored they'd all be jumping up clapping and singing. I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut.
