Southend FANS vs millwall FANS

what can you do when you have alot of oap's that dont want to sing(its their decision)thats where the problems lie.

Erm, no it doesnt lie there. Even if the West was full of singers it wouldnt generate half the noise of a stand with a flat roof.

If you filled this stand with people like us the west would sound awesome.

It would be improved but not awesome, the acoustics are so sucky see my above point.

it does im afraid 5000 capacity with only 500 singing,if 5000 sang it would sound awesome, but i do agree the acoustics are poor, but no worse than the pathetic south.

why cant we put the away fans in blocks Y Z and AA and letting us have blocks CC DD EE FF of the north then this way the away fans have thier seperate food stoles and toilets and can be segration inplace in blocks X of the west and block BB of the north ?

for those not sure on block positions the ground guide is on the link below,

TBV is a fantastic concept hindered by location more than anything else but dont give up Boys and Girls over there by negative comments,as you have stated its a long term issue that will finally be resolved when a thousand plus voices are raised in praise of our beloved SUFC in our very own Kop.
I'm doing my own bit in the East Reds by constantly abusing the officials, I hope this helps.

With your attitude suprised you got any mates.
Was you there at millwall maybe you could have showed us there?
A nice day and night out at brighton for you and your boys,
wonder why this 1 appealed to you???? :whistling:

yeah i have the odd friend, wayhey

in answer to your first question no i wasn't at the millwall game as i live in portsmouth as it says under my avatar, location: a place (a place of settlement, activity, or residence)
and in answer to your second question, its because again i live in portsmouth and due to the location (remember what that meant?) of brighton is only a short journey away. then my mate, also a southend fan was like 'wow' i have the tuesday and wednesday off, we should go and i was like 'yeah man, that'd be sick!'

you going sweetie?

There was plenty of noise from our section. The rest of you outside V & W just couldnt really hear it!

True. I saw TBV standing up and jumping up and down at some parts but with no noise. The North stand is always sounds the loudest from the pitch as that is why the away fans sound the loudest.

Quality...M@CC@ and Hindle having a ding dong!!!! I think I have died and gone to heaven :)

I like it in the South Lower. You can listen to your radio and join in with the kids throwing sweets at the photographers without nuisance or interruption. The opening of the sweetie wrappers gets on my nerves a bit, though, and I wish they could invent a flask that wouldn't clunk so loudly when you put it on the floor.

In terms of last nite, the thing that people should be focusing on is the sickening racist chanting directed at our black players. all first half they directed monkey chants at our players. I reported it to the police at half time and he said it was on camera and will be dealt with. odd thing is, they have black players in their team.

Not again? I thought this sort of thing stopped in the 80s. Why isn't it getting more coverage? If it happened in the Premiership or an international game it would be in the headlines.

Just drop it, that will make a big clunk!!

I was in the middle of the west for this on and I agree, Millwall easily the loudest I've heard at Roots Hall in a looooooooong time!

I had to leave slightly early lastnight (grrrr) and I could still hear them from Southend Hospital.

Shouldnt think so not with simon and tony out on the town. ;)

Could hear the little mob to our left quite well, but nothing from behind the goal at the other end.

To your right surely? Unless you were facing the back of the stand the whole game because of the the glare coming off those shirts :stunned:

I think that all that sort of proposal always meets with a negative from our friendly local bobbys, and a bit of tooth-******* and head shaking from RM over the bill for implementing it.

Don't you all think like me,that Millwall's catalogue of football chants are the most dire in the league, the major chant being no one likes us,christ people no one cares ffs.

Millwall is just a cliche, so predictable. Their fans are stuck in the late 1970s and early 1980s with two songs, though I note someone on SZ said three songs, did I miss one.

The volume of the away fans is also factored by the lower roof. It's a big sound box - a bit like the body of an acoustic guitar.

Sound is very directional to, so those in the south are always going to hear the north end above the west, as the west sings to the east.

I sit in the center of the west and the drum is loud, our singing sounds as loud as the away fans.

The only real way is to have the north stand as TBV.....
