Southend FANS vs millwall FANS

moved to the west for this one and thought the atmosphere was pretty good. songs all game long from the blue voice and certainly made the game a lot more entertaining.

from where i was i heard nothing of millwall allllllllllllll game long and i thought they were terrible.

BUT i get home my dad says from where he was in the south upper he heard nothing on the tbv and said millwall were VERY loud.

am i going mad or can you just not hear away fans in the west. surely the acoutics can't be that bad so you can't hear anything????

This is exactly why our job is so fricking hard at RH.

Good noise from us lot again (thats why we couldn't hear 'wall) it just doesn't carry.

Roll on the new stadium!

Millwall fans, hate them or hate them were the loudest at the Hall this season IMHO given they had just over 50% of the North Bank.

Baffling, truly baffling.

We were all commenting in V/W Block just how quiet they were!

You sure it wasn't us lot you heard Kenny!?...

i really am amazed that they were apparently so loud. honestly didnt hear a peep out of them.

thought tbv done well and being there makes the game a lot more enjoyable.

No it was definately the Millwall fans I could hear in the East Stand. I'm sure you guys in the West were singing your socks off but I just doesn't carry well. As you say bring on the new stadium where we can get a proper singing section going with good acoustics.

On Blues World it sounded pretty loud from both sets of fans, but Millwall were easily the loudest away fans I've heard over my laptop speakers.

Heard Millwall loud and clear in the Family Enclosure, though a good effort from our lads too i thought

Thought Millwall was quiet up until they scored, had a brief moment after that. Then quiet until they started the woooaaaa thing. Thats all I heard from the west

i thought crewe were louder than millwall and they hardly brought any... We have had fans alot louder than them this season.

excuses

however the new stadium will be bigger and probably won't sell out very often so the acoustics will theoretically be worse.

of course it will sound loud to you and maybe the guy next to you, respect this whole blue voice thing, out numbering fans atleast 5/6 to 1 we should be out singing them. think about it this way if those in south upper can hear them over you what you think the players can hear?!? hardly inspiring is it?

got a few mates coming down next week, and we coming to the brighton game we'll show you wastrel how to actually make some noise

I sit in the family stand and TBV were great, Millwall fans sang less than half as much - it just sounded louder

Not unless we've changed our anthem to "No one likes us, we don't care".

From the East Blacks I heard TBV and the drum a little bit singing "Essex...Essex" now and then but what stuck with me mostly was when the Millwall fans gave a big "ooooooooooooooh" for over a minute before launching into "No one likes us", Damn that North Bank roof and its amplifying abilities!

Fair do's.

It is mind boggling, it really is.

We were not Galatasaray by any stretch last night, but we did make a lot of noise for most of the game which meant we did not hear 'wall at all really.

Its so frustrating that the rest of the ground cannot hear us, as we are trying so hard to get the whole place going.

Seems we are fighting against an invisible acoustic wall!

The only real solution is to get us lot back in the north, which isnt possible. So does anyone have any other suggestions on how we could get around this 'noise doesn't carry' issue as its really getting to me?!

Sorry mate, but from the East stand we see a lot of movement but not a lot of sound. What the club needs to do is allocate us at least half of the North bank, baring in mind most clubs bring no more than 200 - 400 fans and then you will get a great atmosphere.

In terms of last nite, the thing that people should be focusing on is the sickening racist chanting directed at our black players. all first half they directed monkey chants at our players. I reported it to the police at half time and he said it was on camera and will be dealt with. odd thing is, they have black players in their team.

I think a lot of the problem is that the sound is directed upwards straight into the roof as most of the singers stand at the back.

Why not try and bring TBV to the front of the West for a couple of games and see if it makes a difference?
