Some Club Staff Salaries Late/Embargo Chat - now resolved (for now)

Also screenshots have been put up if when they have been paid proof enough for you all or you gonna carry on burying those head in the sand ?
Do you accept that some offie staff have been paid on time? Or are you insisting no office staff have been paid on time?

I do not doubt some haven’t been paid, said this before but just wish to understand your view point

If there is 10 in the championship alone then I reckon my 10 to 15 estimate is probably abit low - perhaps double it to 20 to 30. Approx 1 in 4 clubs?
That 10 was last year - I think a bit of a crackdown ensured that will have taken the number down but across EFL and NL over any given season not impossible by any means.

Thats what I just wanted to clarify. I do believe the thread should be renamed.

I can not post payslips on here as that would cause a stink as you can imagine.
Absolutely that’s why I haven’t, I have no doubt some staff have been paid I was only letting people know that some haven’t, I won’t be doing it again in the future

A lot of Ron apologists about these days.

‘You think we are the only ones…’
’X number of clubs have also been under an embargo…’
’Card companies withholding funds…’
’He will write off all the money he has put in…’

If other owners are just as bad or worse it still doesn’t make it right!

What I don’t understand is that for the last 3 / 4 seasons we have continually cut the wage bill and removed high earners. Our average crowds, I don’t think, have dwindled much during that period…so why are we not now meeting our financial obligations to tax and or staff ?
For a start our revenue has dropped even quicker as we went from L1 to L2 to NL. Money from Prem/EFL, TV money etc. Crowds were good last year but at lower ticket costs so not sure how that played out in terms of total revenue. Probably down as well.

This is all becoming a bit tedious. Has everybody been paid? Are some staff not been paid?

No-one, not connected with the club, has the faintest idea. Too many people are guessing.

Why don't people keep quiet unless you know the truth and can prove it. If you cannot. please do not add fuel to the fire.
Spot on! ☝🏻🙌🏻👏🏻 We are sick and tired of sh#t without evidence. I only accept it, if there is an solid proof from the club.

Agreed. But reasonable questions to ask and answer. And should we avoid questions just in case we don't like the answers.

Thanks, yes I hadn’t considered the tv money drop

By the way, if 2000 of us paid for TV steam tonight friendly, we might solve some non playing staffs wages with an click of our fingers.

Then you're never going to accept anything are you? The club are hardly going to state "Tina from the ticket office hasn't been paid for two months" on the club's official Twitter feed are they?

The reality is that there are some well connected Zoners and others who may post a bit more spuriously. Most people are happy to lap it up when those ITK/reliable posters are talking about prospective signings and bawl when they have the audacity to take 10 days holiday. You can't blindly accept one and completely ignore the other because it doesn't suit your narrative.

"Whataboutism" is alive and well.

You are dangerously close to becoming the first person on my SZ "block" list. Would be quite the achievement considering I'm yet to add anybody to it despite the utter guff that gets spouted on here sometimes.

One massive thing the club need to do is try to arrange a home friendly against a big team every summer. This would bring much needed income in. Look at Walsall - villa took 4K fans there and villa let Walsall keep the proceeds. From memory the newcastle, West Ham games etc often get a decent crowd and getting a game against a team we wouldn’t usually play
Nottingham Forest agreed to send their first team squad but Roots Hall hasn't been available and won't be until Saturday, therefore most clubs pre season , especially big clubs, are already scheduled due to sponsor related pre season commitments.

Liverpool 23's
Southampton
QPR
Burnley
Stoke City
Celtic
Sheffield Wednesday
Wycombe
Chelsea XI
Orient (Billericay offered their ground )
Portsmouth
West Ham
Crystal Palace
Brentford
Blackburn Rovers
Huddersfield
Norwich
Peterborough
Millwall

all offered to send teams or asked for firm dates or declined due to full slots. We couldn't host due to relay of surface. All clubs were contacted from the first week in January until May, I've just checked.

A fully costed St George's Park testing weekend, a costed Spain pre season training camp, a Shelbourne, Bohemians, Derry City pre season in Ireland, Lars Bohinen researched Norway, Pierre van Hooijdonk outlined a Netherlands trip and Michel Salgado offered his Dubai academy to train at.

Ultimately, as with everything I do currently for Southend United Football Club, it is done early, fully accountable, fully costed, with the aim of delivering the best for the club. Then others decide to sign off on whatever they feel is appropriate.
