Reason we look elsewhere to have a drink is last time we went Dagenham every pub looked to be shut down, they wouldn't let us in the social Dagenham and Redbridge bar cos we have to big a following!
Plus as someone else said would rather a decent drink rather than plastic pints from under the stand
Would be good if there was a pub we'd all go to create an atmosphere before even hitting the ground
I reccomend the Eastbrook pie and mash next to the pub mmmmm

Eat there regulary Best Pie and mash in East London.

Except Dagenham is in Essex
Really annoyed as always try to get to Daggers away but left it too late. Can't get tickets till tomorrow afternoon. Anyone know if they've definitely sold out?
Last time i went to daggers we won 3-0 and didn't even come out of second gear, I'll take that again please
There is parking on the main road alongside the ground but it is desperate to find a place unless you arrive really early.Think I'll need to reach for the smelling salts if we score more than 2!
Does anyone know best place to park near the ground?
Dagenham hasn't officially been part of Essex since 1st April 1965, it's in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
However, there was a survey done, I believe, last year, of the former Essex boroughs which were swallowed by London in 1965 to find out how the local population regard themselves.
The survey found that, even after nearly 50 years about half of the population still regarded themselves as residing in Essex.
As the boundary of the Kingdom of Essex was established as the River Lea over a thousand years ago I suppose it's not too surprising that a mere 50 years wouldn't affect attitudes too much. :winking:
Southend & Thurrock are not officially in Essex either are they? When you drive from Thurrock into Basildon district there is a 'Welcome to Essex' sign.
Southend not officially in Essex??
Well Southend is a Unitary Authority like Thurrock. Therefore if there are 'Welcome to Essex' signs when you go from Thurrock into Basildon then Castle Point & Rochford could if they wanted put up 'Welcome to Essex' when you go from Southend into Castle Point & Rochford. If you see what I mean?
Think I'll need to reach for the smelling salts if we score more than 2!
