I left at four o'clock and the halfway line was almost reached

Part-timer...ha ha

Half way line was reached...just!

Absolute mammoth task, so much snow on the pitch above the frost covers. Need as many bodies to help tomorrow as possible, had around 50 or so in total today although not all at the same time (made up from staff, volunteers and work experience/apprentices).

Well done to those that did get down, was not easy going and you can see why this has been started today and not left until the last minute! Also the snow around the perimeter will need to be moved tomorrow too so certainly plenty to do!

I think it would have gone down better if the tweets from the club actually said 'please' or 'thank you' it certainly put me off!

Why do we bother with Friday night games in the winter, it's cold, horrible and attendance always lower with less away fans in this league.

More worried about this one :OBL:

And so you should be! Man flu!!! Honestly, anyone would think you lot were on death's door the way you carry on when you have the sniffles - man up, or should that be WOMAN up as there's definitely one gender that deals with incapacity much better than the supposed he-men! Unless they're pulling a sickie at work (and then they put on much more convincing feeling sorry for myself voices!) women just dose themselves up and get on with it!

And as for birthing.....you lot would be on the gas and air and screaming for an epidural at the first twinge of a contraction!

Not just away fans, how many non die-hard home fans are going to be tempted by a freezing game of football from a team who has got 1 point out of 9? If it goes ahead and we get more than 5200 it will be a miracle

Even the die hards will struggle I think!

"Fans" not supporters then. Surely this is the time to get behind the team not dessert them. It's all very easy to stop supporting your team when they're struggling but if that's your attitude you might as well go and "support" (ie watch them on Sky) a Premiersh*** club.

I'll be turning up like I do every home game, but as Tara said we need higher attendances, if we need to do that we need to accept that we can't just transform everyone into supporters, we need to encourage casual fans to turn up more frequently as well.

Historically attendances are higher which is why they do it.

At this level you get next to nothing away support anyway.

From Twitter this morning: "@SUFC If you can help at all then please come to Roots Hall as soon as possible with a shovel and a wheelbarrow. Many Thanks to anyone who helps." Obviously seen your post! Wish I could go along and help now, shame I've got to work :(

Why wouldn't you want to go to an important home game on a Friday night?

Ooohhh it's cold and my willy warmer and me long johns are in the wash.

PFFT!

could Ryan Hall not help clear the pitch and therefore work towards his community service target?

Really?? I had to take a half day so I can go to to the Crawley game, I'm not using all my holiday to watch football, the lack of saturday games has screwed me over.

I'm not sure "lack" is the right word; more than half of our home League games are/were on a Saturday.

turned up today for a few hours - jobson reckoned it was 60/40 on , getting in heaters tonite as south end of ground the worse
