Why is he holding that brolly in his right hand ? Also not by the handle. Start another thread about this one.
 
Some ''Expert posters'' on here are saying that Smith's Technique was perfect and you should save a shot going in the top right hand corner with your left hand.
That being true and the fact, as you say, these keepers in the photos had more time, which I agree they would have. Then wouldn't they of had time to use the perfect technique and save it with there left?
You see my logic ? Having time to 'Get Set' why did they save with the wrong hand, the mystery continues.

This thread debated wether the shot was in the very top corner of the goal and as said earlier in the must score zone. I just dont think it was in that zone. YES ! a very good save. But not the best ever for that reason.

Maybe the shot took a deflection, keeper has seen it late, ball moved at the last second or just a mistake....it happens.

I think it should also be noted that Smudge took a massive step to his right before the pen was struck, a big gamble that paid off. The step put him (with his big frame) in a position to save the shot that wouldn't have been possible from the centre of the goal.
