Same old Southend/Sturrock. Gone for the cheap option that knowone else wants. Did you see him in the warm up, doesn't even catch right, hands all over the place. Taylor, Brown, looked decent and Morris who we've let go was far better than baldy shapes up, I despair of Sturrock lately.
...and losing Mohsni, Morris, Dicko, Sawyer....four better players than what I've seen of the new blokes so far!
Moshni - screw lose who cant be trusted.....and general concensus on here and from talking to the players saturday isnt wanted back at the club.
Morris - Good first season, poor in the most part last
Dicko - chief penalty taker, and didnt look bothered most of the season. Our play improved once he got injured.
Sawyer - was dissapointed he left because i like him, BUT PS gave him plenty of opportunities to sort himself out but he couldnt. PS told us meetings that he wanted to see imporvements in Sawyers work rate and general levels of performance but it never happened.
Hurst looks a better option already, he is right footed and can also play on both flanks and in the middle. Good workrate from what i have seen thus far.
Cresswell, already popular amongst the fans, no nonsense CB, holds his position well, good in the tackle and commanding in the air.
Straker, quick and good going forward, good tackler, an improvement on Gilly
Tomlin - quick, strong and a good finisher (based on his time at the Gills), can play wide or upfront.
Fred - still looks unfit, but we know what we will get from him
How are these players not an improvement on the list we have let go???
You have done a fine job of seeing what you want to see. Mohsni i would take over any of the above even with the screw lose. Sawyer whatever anybody says was never given a proper chance, Dicko was far more useful than the new overweight Fred is looking and would take Morris over most League 2 keepers but as usual was another one who's face never fitted with the boss.
I think you are on your own here with these comments. I havnt seen many people complaining about any of the new signings really, whereas Dicko, Moshni, Morris and to a lesser degree Sawyer have at times taken a real pelting and actually i havnt heard many complaining about their release, excl Moshni who is still ours for the time being.

Too be fair, thats quite a biased view in that list!
Mohsni was 'loved' if thats an indication of a good player (as you put for Cresswell). Face it, Mohsni for his faults is technically a superb footballer, but hasnt got the mentality. Hard to say if anyone is an upgrade due to what Mohsni turns up for a game.
Morris was/is a good keeper and given our woes to replace him, not sure why we didnt keep him, especially with 7 subs. We havent got a keeper, so no upgrade yet.
Dicko was superb for us and the change in play was probably more to the fact that the players had nobody big to hit in the heat of the moment rather than a concious effort from the management to change our style. Not seen enough of Tomlin to see whether he will be better, but suspect not. Of course Fred is better though, but needs to show it this season.
Sawyer - like Mosh, was technically good, but didnt have the attitude. From what I've seen, yea, Hurst is miles better option.
Straker - jury is out! Good going forward, but defenders primary job is to defend, so need to make sure we dont leak down that side. Upgrade on Gilly going forward though!
I'm just trying to balance your quite negative view.
I'm more than happy with the transfer activity. 1, maybe 2 CMs and a keeper and that will be a superb summer of business and looks like PS has bought some players in to certainly look to change our style.
can i just say that i didnt think daniels was all that when he was here? was ok, but no better than morris in his first season?
Fair comment on all of that. I think the problem with Moshni wherever he ends up will never be his ability, but his head. If he can't sort that out I doubt he will ever fulfil his potential, certainly not in this country. As for dicko, there will always be mixed views. For me he was lazy and often never put a shift in, a view shared by other fans from clubs he has played for and for someone 6ft plus barely won a header. Take away his pens and im not sure he provided much, clearly PS feels the same.
Appreciate your views though.
Blimey, someone else who shares my opinion of Daniels. I really thought I was the only one.
I'm assuming that those saying Morris is a good keeper didn't actually watch him in the second half of last season.
All this is bang on as far as I'm concerned. Every signing seems to be an upgrade so far (unless Smith signs that is).
