Signing from Swansea

Sitting in the stand at Chelmsford, I overhead a Chelmsford offical (he was wearing a Chelmsford tie, and had an official team sheet) talking to a friend.

I didn't hear all the conversation but he did say that we were 99% close to signing someone from Swansea (I didn't hear who) yesterday and he would of played today, but the deal didn't happen as the money wasn't sorted.

This could be Robinson, Akinfenwa or Trundle. Any guesses?

My money is on Trundle as the League 1 goal getter that we were supposed to sign by the end of the week?

Thoughts?

I really don't believe it will be Trundle, I think he's settled there in a Le Tissier style.

I WANT ROBINSON!!

No.... the speculation is making my head explode!

If it's anyone - and I doubt it (although not intending to diss anyone with that comment) - it'll probably be Akinfenwa.

hes the most likely guess, trundle, 2 much wages, robinson, wants to stay if what he says is anything to believe.

There's about as much chance of us signing Trundle as there is of us signing Thierry Henry.

I agree but you can never be sure these days and it just might be possible....

Well I'm thinking of the money aspect. What would the fee be? £800,000? Wages? £7,000 a week?

How would it happen? Seriously? I'd like it to obviously, but Robinson has far more chance of happening, even if he is upping his demands somewhat.

Agree completely. Robinson, however.....

It just might happen!!
Not too sure on that - though that story contradicts what I've just read.

On a Swansea site (think its their local evening paper) their chairman said yesterday that they had a faxed bid of £150,000 for Robinson from Southend "...and the fax indicated that this was Southends final offer...".

Could be talk from both sides, but unless Robinson now puts in a request if he doesnt get the contract he wants, then I'm sure Swansea may reconsider that offer.

Sigh.

Once more, shotgun not. Particular when you list him in that company. Sadly, I think we need a striker more than a midfielder and I don't expect to see Trundle here.

Of course, if we sign Akinfenwa, I'll back him but with one wary eye constantly on him.

Well, I've not heard anything here, but I do know that Swansea have just splashed out £375,000 on Dean Leacock from Fulham, a club record, so maybe they're after a bit of cash?

As i said, no info locally though
