Just booked my flights down (Ryanair sale finishes tonight at midnight).
£41 all in so can't be bad, only problem is I had to book down on Friday as the flight times on Sat would mean I'd miss the 1st half! Still, I'm sure there's plenty of stuff to do in Bournemouth on a Friday night!

There were plenty of us there on the Friday Night when we played them in April 2006.

I'm sure it will be same again this time Glasgow.

The proposed coach plan sounds like a good one, count Moe in !

It seems to me that the arrangements for this trip would be best by Train, from our last visit I seem to remember the fares are quite reasonable from either Southend or London and while obviously best to book in advance are extortionate if left till the last minute. It is January we are talking, bad weather, and it doesn’t clash with our 4th Cup match against Man U does it?

An early morning start and a planned Pub would mean that others making their own way from the South of England (or anywhere else could join in). after the match split in two groups, the day trippers can go home happy with three points in the bag, while the weekenders could celebrate in “sordid” style. Everyone happy hopefully,

*update*....It seems Harry cannot find a Coach firm that are willing to take us so ...thanks to dad of DTS the following train fares are available ...it means leaving Southend early to get to London..

Dad of Dts Said...

"Weekend fares from London £18.30 come back Sunday on 13.06 or 13.50 or 14.50 etc

Southend fares direct to Bournmuff still silly at £52.

The cheap fares seem to hinge on the 10.05 to Bournemouth I would suggest if people want to go they book early."

Don't forget those that are not going direct from London and meeting us at the station will have to add on the cost of the fare from Southend to London.

As far as Hotels go for staying overnight, Callan who has not been well has not had a chance to look into this ...Maybe Glasgow or DTS can look into this ....If not I think it would be best for all to find your own accommodation if you intend to spend the night there.

This is not a going to be a cheap event with train fares overnight stay match ticket etc etc and so soon after Christmas....

Please let DTS or myself ,(or post on here) know for sure those of you that will definately be going and those that wish accommodation ? This is Saturday the 19th of Jan .

Cheers John @ DTS.

My only concern is will Travelodges or other such fine hostelries of Bournemouth be up for letting 20 or so football fans stay via a block booking?

I agree Rich that is why I think when we find a venue all peoples book direct.

Right then, how about we post a list of definites who are still going here and from there we can gauge how many people will need to liase with hotels for booking.

I'll start the list (just quote this post and add your name, with any other info we might need to know)

Definites for Bournemouth 19 Jan 08
GlasgowSUFC (need accomodation Fri 18/Sat 19)

I think we just need to find a place Rich .NOT block book, just do it as individuals but with the same venue in mind ....as suspicion by the Hotel/Lodge wont arise then.

I will be going ......

Yeah but I think we need a list, then say from that list divide it into 4s or 6s and then get a nominated person from each group to book however many rooms we need! Probably didn't explain what I meant well enough!
