Yeah mate. We need to have a proper chinwag, not one where we get distracted by the football and Scott's "Italian" green waterproof.

Top clobber that lol!

But seriously I am all for that I really am I hate the way the trust email me telling me what I should be doing in some vein attempt to order me around, smacks of elitism!

We all want what's best for the club

Well this is just it, I have had an email from the trust mainly having a go at me for knocking the trust on SZ. They do not
Like public debate and never have since I was on the committee for years.

I would never question the commitment of the people on the trust, yet it's the same two people holding all the cards and all the power it feels like a closed shop.

They will never want to risk their relationship with the club which is not a bad thing but it's blinded them when it comes to making a stand, the youth money is a cash cow for the club simple things that a professional club should being paid for are not because the club physio or youth team manager has to come cap in hand! Is this how the club should be run? Again you can't question the ethics from the trust but I would damn well question the roles here!

So I get an email from trust telling me their statement answers everything!

How faceless how out of touch can you be!

And gives me ZERO confidence should the worst happen.

In closing, a thread that is trying to be constructive asking what is the plan, is met with a private email from the trust telling me that I should stop knocking the trust as they are ALWAYS without sin and apparently there is a plan in place but we are not allowed to know.

I await another email from the trust telling me how naughty I am and how dare
I question them that will be after they send a few emails between each other taking the mick

I would just like to clear up a couple of issues in Scott's post.

I did email him last night, and yes I did politely ask if he would stop the Trust bashing, as we had responded to his initial post which covered all points at that time.

I also pointed out again that there is a contingency plan in place, but if we went public with it, it could cause more harm than good.

I also gave the reason's as to why there had been no further responses on SZ, all of which were personal, and I see no reason to go into these on a public forum.

And I also pointed out that as Scott was a former committee member he could always contact us directly rather than moaning on here about not being contacted.

And now that Scott has brought it up, their is an issue about TBV owing the Trust money, however unlike Scott we would normally treat emails in confidence and not air our views in public.

Other than the above, there was nothing else in the email sent to Scott so the rest is at best conjecture on his part.

Again, I will apologise now for any further lack of or delay in responses to this for the reasons given above.

Though you know I fully agree with most of your views regarding the trust, you/we must also respect that all fans have different outlook when if comes to "we all want whats best for the club" some are happy to kick up a stink, jump on the band wagon quietly where others will just sit back watch and moan behind close doors.

The big question here is what is best for the club?

I wouldn't like that either, and for that reason I'm not on their mailing list. However I wouldn't knock them for tyring to do something - they want the club to succeed just like you and I, and if that's their way of doing things I say let them get on with it.

There's a load of different factions here, all supporting the club, all in different ways. Different ones will appeal to different people. If you don't like what one of them does, simply don't get involved with it. But I don't see the point of knocking them.

So there's a contingency plan but it's top secret. Great.

Which is my point

The problem is lads and as much as this pains me the Trust comment above is true...........................But I do believe that the trust could produce something that puts some fans minds at rest yet not actually give it all away.

I agree, it would be poor business sense to publish the plan when costs/ money must be involved.

Thread as never been about knocking them it was a question that really has been avoided, if you read back you will see that I would never question the commitment at all

Really? They don't even need to provide the full figure and breakdown, but could explain how percentages of income are designated to the fund (if that's the case), how the fighting fund is generally growing (if there is one), and what the terms of reference are for the committee and exactly how and when it'll be used.

I genuinely don't see how being more open about it is in any way bad business - apart from RM maybe phoning them up for a loan a bit more. It'd be reassuring and good for the Trust and fans to know, especially as we're stuck in a period of major uncertainty regarding the clubs future.

The trust are only slightly more transparent than RM when it comes to revealing exactly what they actually do to benefit SUFC hence why there is generally a lot of apathy towards them.

Pubey, my post was poorly put! the points you make are very valid and I can not argue against those.
My post was regards the "plan B"; and that the plan is best kept as a need to know.

One thing I will say transparent or not they do care 110% every single one of them

But they could do a lot more to embrace everyone else who cares about their club.

Such as?

As far as I can see from their website they are very open, minutes from committee & liaison meetings are documented and they have a match day presence in the Shrimpers Bar. They are after all normal people with the same work/family commitments the rest of us have, they can only do so much.

Maybe a way to feel embraced by the trust would be to get involved with them? They're always looking for new blood to help out..:winking:
