Memory Lane Shower of **** FC… Who did you play for?

When I was serving on HMS Bristol, we beat Helsinki Police 2-1 in the....................Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
What made it better, was we got a Police escort from the harbour to the stadium in the two Royal Navy land rovers we carried, there and back, complete with 8 motor bike outriders to stop traffic and let us drive through all the traffic lights.

Beat them in the after match booze up too.

That journey was better than the match itself though! lol.

Basildon Boys club, Basildon Town, Basildon United, Brixton FC, Canvey Island and then ran my own club for several years before calling it day at 27 and going into jujitsu.

Rayleigh Athletic for me in the Southend Youth League.
And me! Went on to Rayleigh Town, Southchurch Hall Old Scholars (I wasn't) and then Eastwood Old Boys (I wasn't) before arthritic ankles curtailed my rise to footballing fame at 26. Started playing again in my late 30s and managed to get through a few more seasons with Customs & Excise in the Borough Com before some git broke my leg and Mrs RHB decided it was time for me to stop.

Dodgy ankles playing for the Custom and Excise, must have been very taxing.
Sorry mate it’s all I got.😉

Ooo I inadventedly started a new thread on SZ, my life is complete.

To my fellow dynamos, what year we talking?

I had a big kid called Riggsy in my team, I do hope it could have been Sir @rigsby
I would've been around 82 to 86 ISH (u11 to u15's ?). Dynamos B team - although we famously beat the A team in the 5 a side final at Wickford carnival one year. Home pitch was a field down Cranfield park road and Saltcoats in south woodham. Might also have been at memorial park for abit as well. Trained in nevendon park and Beauchamps school tarmac tennis court!

I played for Crowstone Peparatory School..........just thought everyone would like to know. That was probably the peak of my footballing career.:Smile2: In the fifties footy was difficult for boys in glasses
I was there in the 90s and we won the district cup final. Had Paul brush, Glenn pennyfather and Steve tilson as pe teachers through the years at the school.
