Should Timlin have his contract terminated Also the palace lone man who knew what he did but kept it quite the answer is straight forward NO .What he did was before he joined us And he must have toed the party line because of the length of contract he signed .Give the man a chance to prove he has turned his life around .

Depends what his contract says, I guess.

He hasn't breached anything, whilst at our club, unless one of the points reads :

(iv) Are you likely to have your collar felt by HMP at any point between now and the end of your contract. You know, like something you might have done before you arrived, like. Maybe a misdemeanor you aren't telling us about. You get my drift, eh?
If he goes to prison then common sense says that he will have breached his contract. My question was would we still be obliged to pay him. I am thinking in the context of why people may have voted B.

Agreed, up to a point, but it depends what the contract says, in that regard, if anything.

For example, if he say got a 28 day sentence, then his contract could allow for that. Especially if it's during the close season, which in all likelihood it would be.

There are various reasons why a player could be unavailable to train/play for a limited time, that are allowable within a contract, I would have thought.

It's really either A or C, for me, so I voted C.

Are people going to stop glamorising his criminal record on twitter/from the stands?

I guess no one knows but, if he were to get a custodial sentence would we still have to pay him? We could certainly sack him for breach of contract but if we don't pay him have we breached it ?

IIRC we had to pay Roche whilst he was inside , only terminating the contract when he got kneecapped, something about committing the offence before he signed the contract I think.

That was exactly my point, this morning.

Can Nile be in breach of contract, if the offence was committed before he signed the contract.

Put things in context.

Crime isnt just crime. Personally im really against crimes against the vulnerable. Its dispicable to target the weak of mind or body.

Should it matter whether he was our player at the time? No it shouldnt.

If i do anything wrong to get a criminal record then my job is gone and my career is gone. Im of sound character anyway but it does act as a deterrent. What has deterred Nile from being on the wrong side of the law on numerous occassions? Certainly not the threat of losing his job as this has happened several times and yet here we are.

People liken Timlins crime to Niles. Timlin tried to get away with a motoring offence and didnt. Did he cause distres to the general public? No but was jailed.

For me Niles involvement however small against someone vulnerable should be met with a sentence.

Jails are full to bursting, and in my eyes, custodial sentences should only be imposed on violent crimes or if the perpetrator is going to be a danger to the general public.

That is somewhat different. The PM and 'call me Jezza' are both prominent members of our parliamentary democracy with a direct responsibility to shape and influence the law. They clearly can't be proven by a court of law to be confidence tricksters.

We should at least put Tony Blaire on trial and see. Lying to the British public in order to go on a crusade that has cost over 2m dead, is far worse than internet fraud.

Instead he writes a book about how he conned the country and makes £10m in the US in sales alone. Strange world we live in, when it comes to justice and morals.

Like most on here I want him to stay.
But, I wonder who actually did the Club Statement the other day and if after reviewing the situation further the club might still have more to say on this matter?
