Next week I am told by the manufacturers. Will hopefully have the exact date by the end of this week.
Hi Dave,

Do you think it would be good PR to maybe include the word "sorry" or "apologise" in the club's statement even if it were qualified by "beyond our control blah blah"?

cheers
Why and being a customer myself , should they it really is beyond their control . Surly an apologie from the distribution/production firm is in order .

Also why do we have so many people willing to vastly over state issues by comparing a small production error to one of the worse points of human history ??

Life isnt always fair or under your control people please deal with it
Because they (the club) are the supplier in a deal with you (the customer). And mainly because it wouldn't hurt, it wouldn't cost anything and it might make some people have a warmer glow about the club's PR and attitude to them. There again it might not.

Most product recalls are the fault of the manufacturer rather than the retailer but that doesn't stop 99% of them from including an apology. Just a little courtesy.

Agree with your comment regarding inappropriate analogies though.
Its my own personal "hatred" on the wonderful customer service /PR industry . Its that attitude that drives me nuts . Everything branded and moved in specific areas on the whole "CS/PR" machine .

To me the wrong people would be apologising, there by making it worthless. And the anger etc is directed at completly the wrong people.

We've in the past rallied people to petition the club etc for our views how about we do the same on the production firm ;) .
I'm sorry but Mick's right. We haven't bought the DVD from the production company but the club. A little apology would not go amiss instead of blaming external influences
Even though they are the ones responisble for the error ?
And the fault appears not to be with the club .
sorry its with the "manufactuers" DVD for me not the club
I'm sorry but that is rubbish and if you knew anything about contract law you'd see my reasoning.

If you go to a cinema and the film fails - who apologies? The film company? No, the cinema.

If you go to a SUFC match and the scoreboard fails - who apologises? The club should.

If you eat a dodgy carrot from Tescos, who apologises? The farmer or Tescos? Tescos- they sold you the carrot believing it to be of merchantable quality

If you buy a camera from Boots and it doesn't work, Boots will refund you, and apologise. As soon as the product has left the manufacturers hands, it is the retailers' responsibility to ensure quality and so on.

Of course, I know, caveat emptor and all that. But a little apology would be nice to those who have gone to the trouble of buying it and it not working.

I do feel sorry fopr the club in all this, waiting months for last years product and then it not working.

May I gloat and remind you. My Manu Game from Ebay was made the day after, with a cheap DVD blank disc probably by some spotty amateur student with a cheap PC/ writable machine, cost £3 and works fine.

Isn't it worrying that a multimillion pound company with hi tec equipment spends months to make a DVD .... that doesn't work.
wow.gif
Sorry .... but

Nap's just because its written 1!) In law 2) socialy accepted.

Does not mean i have to agree with it or that its "right". And it suits the current soical econimic model of our times .
And my point is more those directly responisble for the delivering of the serivces or product which in this case is not the club but those "supplying" them directly.
Yes your examples are fine i just dont happen to agree with and think their a terrible refelction of our socity

Now for what ever insane reason we have come to this point does not mean i have to agree with it does it ?

Fair enough. I still like to think sorry is an easy word to say

So you think if we buy some dodgy vegetables from Tesco's, we should hunt down the farmer and give him a good kicking, rather than taking recourse to the more normally accepted consumer rights legislation.

I was going to take issue with you in respect of "think their a terrible refelction of our socity". I presume you would instead prefer me to track down your English teacher and give him/her a good bollocking?

Lol , no because 1) i would not advocate the use of violance for such an argument (and why pick that as YOUR solution ) ;)
2) That already happens , farmers /live stock breaders are individualy brought to account .

and 3) Depends, how far do you want to blame them for missing my dyslexia ? the educational system for not having the correct procedures in place to recognise it :P or me for not improving myself to overcome it :P
