Will you renew

Paying by instalments has always been more expensive hasn't it?

Best way to do it is by applying for a new credit card and taking advantage of the introductory offers. Sainsburys* offer one for existing Nectar customers with 12 months 0% on purchases (you can get longer, but you should try and pay it off in a year as you'll want to renew the following year).

Just use the card the once to pay for the season ticket and then don't use it again. You then pay off £32 each month.

*If they are paying for the new ground, they may as well also pay for you to watch at the old ground as well.

I like this idea:hilarious:

An email to Ron, be interested to see if i get a reply!

Dear Mr.Martin

I'm writing to express my displeasure at the current season ticket arrangements.

I have been a supporter of the club for 33 years barely missing a home game in that time, however i am most disappointed at the set up of this seasons direct debit scheme in particular the £30 charge for credit which i feel is outrageous when added to the already high but understandable increase in cost.

I believe from memory that i paid £280 for my season ticket last year because i took advantage of the early bird discount which seems to have been scrapped this time around, there was also a £15 direct debit fee meaning the total was £295, this year my total cost will be £380 equating to a rise of £85 which in my opinion is unjustifiable and will undoubtedly lead to a sharp decrease in season ticket holders, i must stress that it is not so much the general £50 increase but it is the £30 credit charge which i and many other supporters are strongly against, in todays economic climate myself and many others just do not have the funds to pay for the ticket outright so we are basically being held to ransom by your usage of a finance company that adds further cost to the consumer.

At a time when the club should be doing all it can to regain the 'lost' support i feel that this scheme will inevitably have the complete opposite effect.

Unfortunately with the new direct debit scheme i can not justify the cost and will not pay the extra £30 especially, therefore unless something can be done to more effectively help the supporters in purchasing season tickets then there will be many other lifelong fans including myself who will not be renewing their tickets for this forthcoming season.

I look forward to your response.

Good shout and for the same reasons i am not renewing this season.

Although according to chadded its not a fair comparison to make

Just openned a Tesco credit account (interest free for 13 months) and will buy mine with that. Works out at about £29 per month over 12 payments. Simples.

Anyone know when cut off point to renew is for the discount? Not had my annual brochure from Ron yet?

Maybe were saving money on brochures as Ron is about to announce a wave of new signings for the coming season........

If they have scrapped the discount for Blues Lottery holders then thats more income they are going to lose, we are both in it and have only won once. I know we joined to support the youth but even not winning you had the discount on the season ticket. Without that I will be cancelling it ASAP

I did speak to the marketing dept a couple of weeks back about something else and asked about the lottery then. I was told it is still being drawn but because of the cut backs in staff it is one of the things that they know needs to be re addressed, sorry but how difficult is it to write the numbers down on a bit of paper and hand them to the tannoy chap on match day or list them in the match day program
