Breaking News Scott Spencer to sign

The next Fredy Eastwood? Please God/Jehovah/Allah/Buddha/The Great Spaghetti Monster... (delete as applicable)

Having seen his trial match, he will definately not be the next Freddy Eastwood. Might do an average to decent job though and I'm sure he is cheap.

look let's face it, if he hadn't lost his way he'd not be signing for us. A bit of a gamble but if it pays off great. I don't have to remind anyone that Freddie had lost his way as well before going to Grays. Can T&B tap his undoubted potential (Moyes is not an idiot). Will the patient RH faithful allow him to. Time will tell.

Ricky Duncan made a comment at his Q&A that the biggest fallout for young pros is at the age of 19-20 when they tend to lose their way (women, motivation, pressure). Hopefully he can regain his form as a younster away from the pressure cooker of a premier academy.

It's also a main time for natural wastage as more players come through the youth systems than can actually be accommodated.

I have a good feeling about this young lad. 2 goals in the reserve game, Tilly and Brush must have been keeping an eye on him for a while. Looking to sign him after 1 reserve game. Think he may surprise a few of you.

If he signs, he deserves 110% backing from us all. He's a young lad, so needs that little pick me up from the RH faithful.

He impressed me in the reserve game, and he clearly has something about him for Everton to have bought him.

Whats he after, Sniff? or something harder?

Seriously though your right 110% behind the lad

we want him
he wants to be here
he is on a free
he is young (and I assume on low wages)
he has scored twice in a reserve match- and as a bonus it was vs Col U

How anyone can find negatives in the above is beyond me. If we loose Barney and don't get anyone else in then fair enough moan - but that has not happened yet.

I agree. His signing seems very similar to Laurent's; a bit of an unkown quantity with a short contract to prove himself and if does not work out then we have not really lost anything.

I just hope he is given time by our supporters and not expected be the "new Freddy" or a straight swap for Barney should he leave.

Lets be honest, he's free- fairly low wages and might actually be a striker that can score. You never know, he might even be a good partner for Barney or a potential replacement!! lets see him play in first team level, Scannell has done alright, no reason Scott cant. Would be good to see him on the bench Saturday and then come on and score!!

The Barney money

I've got a feeling that the Barney money will help keep the club afloat as it would not be a surprise if the players wages or bonus wasn't paid in time sometime this year.
The desperate measure to get some season ticket sales for next season must tell you that we are still in deep doo doo, despite any spin to say otherwise.

It will be even worse if England win the world cup ;)

Nice one just what we need to partner barney. Let's hope Barnard stays :) nice partnership between them, then Laurent can play always at his best position, right wing. :)
