Sankofa, a very weak link!

Is that the same Dervite who Tilly brought in then ??

Serious question ok ... are you single ?? because if you ****ing moan and groan around the house like you do on here i'm surprised your old man hasn't landed you in the Womens Refuge before now

The tripe that is written on here i'm entitled to moan. How about Francis, an attacking full back at home when you are trying to score plenty of goals and Sankofa away for a defensive draw? Was quite happy the way we played against Millwall but a crab at right back and a bloke that is clearly unfit/unwilling upfront were Tilson errors!

Now Mr.Tilson, if you are not going to play with any width then please spare us having to endure watching probably the most layed back, unexiting, crab like player to ever play at right back for Southend. Francis was up and down and whipping in crosses within 10 minutes of coming on. OK he has his off days but one of them is better than watching Sankofa go through the motions. Last week you all defended him but this is a player that will get poor to average in most peoples ratings every week as he is incapable of going forward. Time to get back in the reserves for this one i think!

We lose, and Wiggy posts some more tripe.
Get a life.
Not sure if you was at the game against Col U Wiggy, but Sankofa was one of the better players as he kept Yates quiet for 90 minutes , but suppose he should have been attacking most of the game, seeing as he is a right BACK !!!!
I would love you too be uin charge of a football team, your ideas about football verge on ridiculous, but then again, you love to see us lose, so that you can fire up your computer and moan, moan, moan .....

Yep the same.
So you would have a 100% record in the transfer market would you - you sound brilliant, you should apply for the Brighton job. We all win then, you would get the football manager job that obvioulsy you are made for, and we would lose you from this forum - its a Win Win !!

Sankofa a very great asset !!

good full back - can cover centre back - young strong athletic footballer -

WTF you moaning about .....

Although i agree most of his posts are negative, and only come about after a defeat, I do agree with him, in a way, about Sankofa. I havent seen anyone have a worse game than him, as he did away at Orient. Granted, our defence has looked better in the past few weeks, but this could be down to the fact, that he had a right back playing in front of him for most of our recent games. He now has a defensive midfielder playing in front of him, so he has had plenty of cover. The matches where he had Betsy playing in front of him,and was more exposed, he looked poor, and a lot of people agreed, if you look back at some of the ratings given in post match ratings.

Perhaps Wiggy should recall the days of Neil Jenkins and pre Tilson eras of full backs who could do neither!

Today against Walsall, i rest my case, brought about Tilson's earliest ever substitution!

I'm disappointed, wiggy, that you have the gall, or perhaps the spite, to claim that a purely tactical substitution advances your petty, vindictive and pointless attempts to belittle a perfectly able member of a team that has now won 6 of their last 8 matches.

That's pretty low, really.

:nope:

Not at all, Sankofa as usual was going knowhere. The defence has improved massively in recent weeks but it certainly isn't because of him!

Think you'll find that dorian is the magic inrgedient not sankofa.

And Sankofa is a defender. As ACU has said, the substitution today was purely tactical - to give us more impact going forward against ten men. You could argue that Tilly may have made the substitution after half-an-hour, when it was evident that we weren't breaking Walsall down at all despite Ricketts' dismissal, but with 45 minutes to go, there was still plenty of time left to change the game.

We play our football in League One, and to ask to have a defender that both defends and attacks well is asking a lot. So, each week Tilly has to make a choice between a solid right-back who defends well (Sankofa) and an attacking right-back susceptible to the odd lapse in concentration (Francis). And in the last eight matches, we've conceded one goal from open play, and that from the left, not the right-hand side with Sankofa as the right-back.

(Please note, I'm not saying that Sankofa is the sole reason for our greater defensive cohesion - Dervitte has had a calming influence on Clarke at centre-half, and Grant's form has been excellent in midfield. Add that to an essentially defensive 4-4-2 formation, with no out-and-out wingers and JFC as a defensive midfielder, and there's a more rounded assessment.)

Where did I say otherwise? My beef with wiggy is that he is using a TACTICAL substitution as evidence of Sankofa's incompetence - which is low indeed. I don't think Sankofa is the ultimate Right Back, but he is doing a perfectly competent job at the moment and wiggy is picking on him, I believe, because even s/he realises that picking on Mildew isn't tenable any longer.

I agree with wiggy sorry.

Why apologise? I don't have a problem with people not rating Sankofa, even though I don't agree. What I have a problem with is wiggy wetting himself with excitement because Sankofa has been taken off for tactical reasons and thinking that this proves his case.
