Sale of Southend United to Justin Rees and his consortium

Just heard a rumour statement due today! #MartinOut

Will be an update on “sale progress” to try and prize fans protests away. Reality is we should ramp them up off the back of any statement.

Why doesn't he have a contract in place to put the money up and save the club

And get the sale to go through

What is the contract going to say? It can't say "Ron must sell by this date" because that would basically just be agreeing to sell at the offer price, which Ron clearly doesn't want to accept. The other option would be for Justin to loan the club money but then if the sale falls through he'll probably never see that money again because we'll be wound up. Maybe Justin could get Ron to personally guarantee the loan with his personal assets but I think he's too slippery to do that.

Is Justin based in Australia do you know? I thought I read somewhere he resides in the Netherlands. Just trying to gauge when the statement would be released time wise. I’m thinking if he is Oz based then it could be in the next couple of hours, if EU based then could be anytime today. I mean this is based on him personally releasing the statement and not pre set it or has an assistant ready to hit the button etc.

Believe he lives in the Netherlands and is there at the moment, but has business and personal interests in Australia still so does spend time back there.

The direction of travel here points only one way to an administration as far as I’m concerned. The Npower adjournment to the 3rd Oct and the level of debt, if the rumours are true, with the WUP hearing the next day leads me to conclude that RM will take action prior to these events- most probably late next week.

Really hoping for positive news re this impending statement. We can't afford another statement in vein of Kimura's seeking other partners to lead etc as we simply do not have enough time. We need clarity on whether he has confidence in getting it done or not so that the fans & trust can mobilise with plan B if not.
