Sale of Southend United to Justin Rees and his consortium

As I said earlier, it might be very far off, but it really doesn’t send the right message to fans turning up in an official capacity with the CEO if it’s not close, which sort of confuses me considering a few days ago he was still looking for investment which suggested it was far away. We’ve also got people saying it’s nowhere near close.

Turning up like today really does give fans a lot of reason to infer that this is getting closer to going ahead, I hope that is the case or the disappointment will be ten-fold!

So Rees, Lawrence, Firth and Duddridge were all at the game today

Privilege, as ever, watching Southend United Football Club play bromley football club this afternoon. Very disappointing result as there is no doubt #southendunited were the stronger team & played better, although I think playing on astro turf did not suit the players that well.

Nice to see and meet Justin Rees, the potential new owner, at the game along with #SirJamesDuddridge. Justin is clearly a very nice guy with a passion for the game who is very serious about buying the Club (with a consortium of others) all of whom have a passion for Southend. Onwards to beating Kidderminster at home next Saturday!

Apparently high level talks were taking place between Ron and A “Aussie” today in Pret a mange Brentwood according to Twitter @fan_southend1 today 🤦‍♂️.
