Ron Martin from Badger 74

Badger74

Manager
Mr. Martin,
The sooner you leave our club the better.
I honestly believe you have destroyed our club and that we will be playing non league next season.
The ground will not be built and SUFC will go under in your control.
Please leave now before its to late.
I cannot believe we still have fans that support you but sooner then later, they will understand that you really have killed the club.

Never trusted you and never will!!!!

I hate you with a passion

Yep , but unfortunately unless someone comes in with the dough to either buy Teffron out or for a merger then he aint going nowhere and he WILL take this club into oblivion trying to build the stadium.

I do not know RM personally but I do believe that the new stadium is our best chance of survival and that currently any owner of SUFC would have robbed peter to pay paul in order to survive, unless of course they had a multi-million pound wedge burning a hole in their back pocket that they could happily throw away on a club that as yet is still not a great piece of business. I am a supporter and sadly do not have enough money to buy the club, but if I could, I doubt I would. Heart ruling head is a bad business plan.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, but why do you think it's our best chance of survival?

I think you have to replace the word "best" with "only".

We've sold the Hall to Sainsburys and I don't think enough people would continue supporting the club to the level needed to survive if we operated a groundshare with our nearest clubs being either West Ham, Orient or Colchester.

Ok, fair point. Let me expand it then...

Once the move is complete and we're in the new ground, what guarentee/evidence/gut instinct do we have that money worries are eradicated and we survive?

I refer to the reply made by fbm. He is spot on. We cannot stay at Roots Hall and even if we could we would not be able to upgrade the stadium viably. Just look at some of the magnificent victorian hospitals that were once the mainstay of the NHS. In order to be viable the hospitals were demolished as it was cheaper to build new ones. Roots Hall is outdated and needs replacing. FF is the future and RM has stuck to the task despite everything. He has probably/possibly made mistakes but thats life at any level of business.

Groundhog day......AGAIN!

RM isn't going anywhere, he holds all the aces. I don't like it anymore than you but thats the facts.

I've reworked the question following FBM's answer

Agree with Arab, Ron build the stadium complex then p**s off! I don't want you as chairman, we'll use you as you have used us! Enough said!

We don't - but we know that by NOT doing it, we WILL eventually just die. That's why it's our only chance. There's no guarantees about anything, same as any of the other 91 football league clubs.

There are no guarantees in business or in life but in some things we choose to operate under the banner of faith. I have more faith in FF securing the future of SUFC and less faith in Roots Hall giving us any future whatsoever. Greater potential revenue streams would be the best indicator.

Get behind the current team and support them...!

And clearly I do. I'm a regular (apart form yesterday) at the back of W block, and constantly give vocal support to the team.

Then if I choose to moan about how sh*te they are on here, I will do, ok?

Roots hall is one of the best grounds in league 2 and a mediocre ground in league 1. If we are only playing league 2 football or conference standard after yesterday then what good is a 22k stadium? Yes we need a new stadium, but more importantly we need fans to go in it, and after yesterdays peformance we may have to go to rent a crowd!

This is the bit i'm highly sceptical about.

Agree with you but "Ron" holds all the cards realistically. I cannot see in a million years him giving up a new fossetts farm and the keys to our club, Just like another "Ron" Noades, that is, he will hold all the aces in the deck for along time.
