The title of this post is the headline in the Echo. No doubt the Echo will post the full article on here soon, but until then Ron says

"I have every confidence in Phil Brown and the squad of players that we have here at Southend United."

There are several other positive statements from Ron on PB and the team as well. No chance of a sacking any time soon based on those words.

Great. Full steam ahead League Two....

If these results and performances continue I can imagine Ron will very soon discover first hand that most supporters have other views on the matter.

Not necessarily, quite often people get a ringing endorsement before being given a shove!

Personally I think that the supporters have given both RM and PB a very easy ride so far.

Wondering whether apathy has set in amongst the crowd already?

Of course they do, but there is absolutely no criticism anywhere in the article. I would be very surprised if PB is off any time soon if results improve. Otherwise, who knows.

Apathy reigns at Roots Hall - our fans are happy to bury their heads in the sand and hope that some miracle delivers FF, when in reality, whatever happens on the pitch pales into insignificance given where our Chairman is taking us...

Ron do you really want to give PB some money to spend in January? Are there any more over the hill washed out rejects still to sign or do we have them all already??

My understanding is Ron does have legitimate faith in PB, I don't think this is a dreaded vote of confidence scenario. I'd say PB has at least until xmas to turn things around.

The dreaded vote of confidence......

Oh please, this is ridiculous. PB has got to go, if not by the power of Ron then by fan power. its time for fans to really air their feelings about PB and the team.

Either sacking him is going to cost the club too much (I'm assuming, he's on decent money and Ron thought PB would be that good he'd get tapped up by a bigger club during his contract, thus landing the club with a huge compensation windfall?)

Or, heaven forbid, Ron actually has faith in Brown?

I totally agree. The club will not exist in a few years without FF or a substantial investment from a new owner.

RM and PB are the luckiest chairman/manager in football with such understanding fans!!!

Therein lies the problem - I don't think the fans are understanding - that is, understanding of the gravity of our situation, hence the lack of any desire to protest...

Well there we are then. So if things do not improve by, say, xmas, then if its not to late, PB will be taking up gardening.

Something needs to be done about matters off the pitch as well as on the pitch...We as a fanbase need to take action imo. Would the Trust be willing to 'mobilise' now and help start raising awareness and even demonstrate against ron and Co and the direction this club is heading in.

And do what? If you can find a multi-million pound developer to buy the club off Ron then happy days, otherwise any demostration is useless.
