Obviously RR although he has impressed is seen as a luxury, as I mentioned yesterday.

Real shame it has to be seen that way.

Good luck to him, he won't have any troubles getting a gig elsewhere.

Is your source saying its definitely not going to happen then? or have we just not done the deal yet??

Aren't we jumping to conclusion here? It's not over till the fat lady sings...Has she?

My source is revealing nothing regarding RR!

It could still be on, but I think a Striker is the main priority at the moment. It would of made complete sense to take RR up to Scotland, whether he was signed up or not. The fact he is not there, would suggest to me that it's a no go.

Maybe the fact he lives in Coventry or the midlands somewhere he is meeting up with team in Scotland. Does anyone know if he stayed down after the GWR game. All the vibes from him and PS sound positive. My guess is he will go from the midlands and meet up. PS would probably still like to see him against better opposition and this wend would be ideal.

Too be fair, I think RR has 'proved' himself - he played in an 'over the park' trial game with 50 other players and then played against non-league oppo.

In the past he has played top flight football and looks fit enough - he is only 28. I dont think he needs to prove himself much more, so if PS wanted to keep 'trialing' him in Scotland, then that is pretty insulting I feel.

I think now is the time to say, "here is the deal" or "good luck elsewhere" ?

Scriven confirms RR is not travelling up from elsewhere to join up with the squad "at this moment in time"

Whether that means he may do later, I don't know.

I think the fact Leonard is there, would suggest that only players that are 100% in the squad are travelling. Perhaps a deal with RR can be brokered over the phone and he may join up with them in the next 48 hours.

All it says is he's not on the plane. Doesn't mean to say he wont be making his own way up from Coventry.

EDIT: Ignore me, too slow.

Ricketts just tweeted me!!!

He is travelling up later (hopefully)!:happy:

This is goin' be another one of those bloody days......... checking on the computer every few minutes for any scrap of news. Only went off for a quarter of an hour to shave and watch a bit of the 14th of July flypast and the story seems to have leapt on a pace. Whilst, initially disappointing that he's not on the plane (wasn't surprised that 'rocket' Leonard was), does this really tell us very much.....apart from that he hasn't yet signed? I would make the same reflection as Beefy, could we expect someone, in the space of less than 48hours to drop everything and run off to Scotland, even if he signs???
GOD!!! Even this post, as I write, seems to be overtaken by events, according to pboreham!

Perhaps the answer to my rhetorical question is YES!!!!! Look, as an old codger, who in his younger days, had to wait to see the Southend Standard for news I am totally gob smacked by modern communication. Bloody Hell! it's not that we are sitting here waiting for news, we are actually making it!!! ...........................totally incredible.

It is pretty scary these days that we normally find out news BEFORE official sources and usually from to protagonists mouths.
