Watched the Boreham wood v St albans last night and i must say the football st albans played at times was worrying good considering they're in the conf south. Nile Ranger made a late entrance for the wood in the 85th min and his first contribution was to almost fall over the ball in a good shooting position. Got a mention as to why we kicked him out.

If though the staffs hands are tied as there just is no money about for improvements, there is nothing they can do and it is no fault of theirs. RM is at fault if you are looking for someone to blame. You can have 50 players lined up but if you can't pay for them it's like ****ing in the
You are spot on. Head of Recruitment? Contacts? None of it is any use unless you have the money to sign players.
If you are unable to pay to fix the plumbing it might be quite likely that you cant afford any new players.
It is Ron's money that keeps the club afloat but the supply of it is erratic. This makes it impossible to plan or run the business the way it should be.
Recent events will not have helped as Ron will now a have new team to fund. Unfortunately the top strikers in that profession command fees not a million miles away from Premiership wages!
I suspect that whatever James Dunne is being paid would not buy you much of a QC!
If the Club had reoccurring cash flow problems before the court case blew up you would have to think that now things could only get worse.
Unless the Council vote in respect of FF finally gave him a level of financial security.
If it did not then you have to be a real optimist to believe we can can continue like this until 2025 (my guess as to when the alleged fraud case will finally be played out).

Feels very odd that we hear very little from Stan now. I get why he's dropped off of SZ with some of the toxic stuff that gets banded around, but its been a while since we heard anything from him - when the promise was "transparency" and fan engagement etc. Last meaningful tweet was 27th November.

Dont want to get dragged into the 'plenty going on behind the scenes'. I'm sure there is (I hope there is!), but from all the bluster of what was going to change and improve, here we are again as fans. Desperate for signings, knocking rumours of embargo's around, pointing fingers at Tom and Ron etc.

Depressing times :(

We have more depressing times than we do uplifting ones at the moment. On the Stan front, he reckoned that there would be a supporters gathering in January where he would brief fans on progress. The gathering was deferred to January because of the December Q&A dinner at the Cliffs. Regardless of rumour, the Club is short of finances and this will be down to numerous things which have been done to death on here already. What we are not going to get is a statement from the Club or Stan saying we're temporarily pot less. It is possible that an up front payment of part of the Sayers fee may kick start things financially again, but for now we have ground to a halt. As you say, depressing, but we have been here before and are still here. Let's hope some revenue from tonight's game will help as well

This is what a functioning football club is like. The daily updates were a sign of a club in crisis. We’ve moved on past that and now have a structure in place. We’re no longer in the relegation places and are in a phase of consolidation - we even won our last match!

So about all the doom and gloom at the moment which has been triggered by rumours of people not being paid, no new signings, and so on. Is there any actual evidence yet of there being no money available for these purposes beyond some vague 'my mate's mum's sister's husband' type-rumours, and not from the usual reliable ITK sources? Not saying its not true, we're all trigger happy when it comes to this subject after recent history, just questionning whether we're maybe adding 2 + 2 and coming up with 7? We only 'signed' John Still a week or so back. He might not be the answer to our midfield problems but he'll still want a wage. and wasn't the idea to get the backroom / management side of things sorted so they could start the process of finding the right players, instead of knee-jerk signings? Perhaps we're expecting everything a bit too soon, which is understandable given the last few years and Stan's possibly over-enthusiastic appraisal. I'm just trying to put some perspective on the situation. also in the past, when the rumours have started about non-payments etc, its been quickly followed up with more concrete evidence. This time there's been nothing since the original rumour around a week ago, unless someone knows something I don't. Lets worry about it when we know there's actually a problem.

What happened to transparency? Wasn’t that one of the main things we asked for and as usual we haven’t heard a peep!

I really do give up with this basket case of a football club. Lulls you in with a false sense of security and then ****s on you from a great height.

The daily updates were made by one person, not the club.

If it's a financial or embargo issue then the fans have a right to know. Seeing as nothing is coming out of the club, one can only assume it's neither and it's something else.

@BoyWonder2 Is noteable by his quietness - he (or she!) is usually very quick to come on here and dispel anything like "Embargo" talk. But perhaps the radio silence is either;

* They are bored of repeating the same thing
* Better to say nothing when news isnt good.

EDIT: Unless news has changed since, the last message from BW2 to shootdown embargo was last Thursday;

Ultimately, the players have been paid. People will either believe that, or believe what they want. We haven’t been under an embargo since the start of MM’s reign. Again, people can believe that or believe we are under one.

That said, I'm sure players being paid isnt the only way to be put into an embargo is it? Isnt it something to do with publishing accounts? Probably more ways too.

Four letters.

Have a guess, you'll never get it. :Smile2:

They lied to us in league one saying we were looking for 7 players in the January transfer window. Radio silence for the whole window whilst we were under an embargo and we wasn't told about it until it was too obvious to keep it a secret any longer.. It just goes around again.

Surely all we need is BlueWonder2 to be rolled out and tell us its all ok? remember, when he speaks, Shrimperzone listen
