Recommend me a book

Heard bad reports about Song of Stone.

Cheers, I'll check out Whit next methinks. God, don't get me started on that book. It is so so so so shocking. Incest, rape, murder, world war 3 future, past... it tried to be something like 28 Days Later set in a Scottish castle, but it was one of the most soul destroying, unlikeable and pointless reads I've ever endured

Graham Greene - Brighton Rock or England Made Me.

Anything by PG Wodehouse, especially the Jeeves and Wooster series.

Evelyn Waugh - Scoop! and A Handful of Dust are my favourites.

sometimes, I think he tries too hard.

Edited previous post, as I'd forgotten about Complicity. that was made in to a film, but I never got round to seeing it.

excellent choices all of them - finally read Brighton Rock last week and it was well worth the wait. Also, read most of the Jeeves and Wooster's - Fry and Laurie do them amazing justice.

Here are a few you might find interesting MK.

A Field Guide to Left-Wing Wackos: And What to Do about Them by Kfir Alfia.

Socialist Guide for the 21st Century, A by Jack Grassby.

Now **** off and save the world swampy!!!!!!!!

Iain Banks is my favourite author. My favourites of his are The Wasp Factory, Espedair Street and The Bridge. The Bridge in particular can be fairly hard going but stick with it, such a great book when you get into it.

Wasn't Powder a film to IIRC:confused:..Get "Mission" ..Patrick Tilley ..Paul....failing that ...anything by Mitch Albom.."The Five people you meet in Heaven" or "Tuesdays with Morrie" I would recommend or Richard Bach..."Illusions" being my favourite.

:)

No mate, this version of Powder was never a film... think of Slade in Flame... it's along those kinds of lines :D

I didn't say there WASN'T a film called Powder, it's just a different story. This one is the rise & fall of a "Snow Patrol" type band. :D
