Man Utd. All these Man Utd fans who have never walked through the turnstiles at Old Trafford. Support your local club, although Yeovil would need a bigger stadium if that ever happened.

Sunderland Make your mind up what division you want to play in.
WBA and Birmingham For the above reasons, and Birmingham also for nicking Fry.
Grimsby, Only away game I have been to when the game has been called off
Leeds. You are in division 1 live with it

Barnsley spring to mine.

Been to Oakwell twice. First time in the League One winning season when a win would have put us one point away from promotion but we were 2-0 down at half-time. Their second came despite a blatant foul on Flavs but the ref let it stand. At the time, we regularly went 1-0 down before coming back to win 2-1 but a 2-0 deficit was a bit too much to ask and despite totally outplaying them in the second half we could only manage 2-2.

The second time was my personal low-point of the Championship season. Tuesday evening, both teams were absolutely shocking, we lost 2-0.

Aside from the bad memories I didn't feel they deserved to win the play-offs when we both went up and didn't think they deserved to stay up when we went down. They're a side that have succeeded without having anything about them.

I've come to detest Nottingham Forest as well because of their fans. I'd argue their sense of entitlement is worse than that of Leeds fans.

Most of these 'irrational' hatreds mentioned seem to come from bad memories (I notice Grimsby coming up a few times (the fact that their fans were on the grass poised to invade the pitch as we were desperately trying to find a winner irked me the most).

Has anyone else developed an irrational fondness for a club because of good memories from beating them?

I think I did with Macclesfield Town as we always seemed to beat them and because of that great Tuesday night at theirs before we won the play-offs. I still smile when I hear they've won. Southampton as well because of the last game of the 2006/7 season.

Most of my footballing dislikes are the obvious ones - Manchester United, West Ham, Col Ewe, Franchise FC - but giving this thread a touch of topicality my most "irrational" dislike would have to be Brighton.

I've seen them be only too happy to go cap in hand to anyone who'll help them, either financially or by taking the time and effort to march for them, and as soon as they're back on their feet it's back to the same old schtick of being a club with some bizarre sense of entitlement to be in the upper echelons of the Football League.

In many respects you'd struggle to find two clubs more evenly matched in terms of support, potential and so on than Southend and Brighton, but to listen to many of them you'd think that we were well and truly beneath them. Tuesday was sweet, and if they receive a reality check at the end of the season I won't shed too many tears.

For me its Grimsby cos of that last game of the season 04/05 and Crystal Palace. I will never forget losing 1-0 at Palace to a 93rd minute Simon Roger goal after we dominated the entire game, dont know why this seems to bother me more than any other but it does, even though it must be about 15 years ago now! Plus the stewards at Palace always used to be awful, getting violent and always throwing people out for no reason.

Col E , Orient and Wet Spam for obvious reason also hate:

Hull , Leeds , Tottenham , Birmingham , Liverpool , Doncaster & Gillingham.

Have soft spots for Rochdale , Bury , Crystal Palace and Weymouth.

And how come EUFA forgot that Spleeds were banned from European football 18years later considering they never served the ban and never qualified for Europe until 93?

Wrong for two reasons! One, it was for the time period, not whether they qualified. Two, they would have qualified for the UEFA Cup from the 75/76 season for finishing 5th.

and for my hates, tottenham (family are arsenal and used to follow their results when younger before they were took over by froggies and jap supporters), leyton orient, brighton fudgepackers

so why do you still come on here then you pillock?

Did you bother reading the rest mate or were their too many words?? The post was wrote with tongue firmly in cheek.

Pillock.... What a wonderful word, i haven't heard that since school :D

Lets not start another my dads bigger then your dad argument on this thread hey

Col E, Borient and Wet Spam for obvious reasons.

Manure with a passion, more than the above teams, which I can only put down to my Yorkshire roots! My Dad is a Manc too & he's the best bloke on this planet, despite buying Manure kit when I was 6!

Also on the list include:

Watford - from our clashes in the late 70's, Graham Taylor & Elton John!

Liverpool - originally for beating up a 13 old SUFC supporting Punk girl in the replay of our Cup game. Also their great supporters! In a word Heysel! Not even Leeds have done that & they weren't whiter than white at Hillborough either, but it wasn't all their fault!

Crystal Palace - awful place to get to & I still can't forget our 8-0 defeat there!

Tottenham - just do! All my mates when I went to school near their ground were Gooners, so maybe thats why!

Sunderland - Roy Keane made sure I did & just want them to do a Leeds or Forest (without the promotion!)

MK Scum - FRO & start your own club from the bottom & work your way up like AFC Wimbledon are doing!

I'm sure there are others, but the above are the main ones

What a quality day that was though, one of my first away games, infact the first if I remember correctly, going 2-0 down was horrible and the ref sure got slated at half time, but getting the draw in fantastic style with Eastwood knocking in from 25y was fantastic

A great day out in the end.

The abuse of the Ref as he had to leave the pitch in the corner by us away fans: "Two Nil to the Ref-er -ree!" being the only printable bit.

The delerium of the equaliser.

That heart stopping moment when it looked as if Barnsley had stolen a late winner and then the sheer joy with which we roared out

"SIT DOWN SHUT UP, SIT DOWN SHUT UP!!!" as we realised the lino had his flag up.

I would like to add Exeter to the list of teams I hate. Been there once during a promotion season sometimes in the 1990's. The whole place is 10 years behind the rest of civilization. Loads of exeter idiots before and after the game wanting to fight everybody who wasn't having sex with their own family.
Might go back there on New Years Eve to cellebrate their millinium.

One of my favourite away days, that one. We had the living cr@p kicked out of us in the first half and Darryl was flattened for their second goal, should never have stood. However, never have I seen such abuse of a referee (fans trying to get at him at the front of the stand) and never have I seen a referee change his act so much in the second half. Barnsley fans were accusing us fans after the match on the internet and their local radio of being disgusting and intimidating the ref into giving us everything in the second half!

My biggest hate isn't another club though Leeds and colu come very close in hatred but for the Scotland National team and it all goes back to the 1978 World Cup.
this was the 1st World cup I watched and with England not there I took in all this hype that Scotland were a great side and could win the World Cup. As I was British it was important to support another British team or so I thought.
There was even a song about how they were going to win the World Cup.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpYGuA3r5ow Lyrics are so funny.

Of course Scotland didn't win the World Cup they lost to that football superpower Peru 3-1 then drew with the mighty Iran. They also had a player sent home in disgrace for taking a banned substance and went out in the 1st round.
After that I realized I wasn't British I was English and have hated Scotland's football team ever since. Seeing them humilated by Costa Rica in the 1990 World Cup and being thrashed 3-0 by Morocco are some of the best moments for me in the World Cup even better than some of Englands wins.
Its just a shame that Scotland are so crap now that they will never qualify for another World Cup. Theres just the qualifying rounds to laugh at them now. They have managed to scrap draws with the mighty Faroe Islands and Litchenstein in the last few years.

I hate any team what has that t**t Neil Warnock as manager, just hate him with a passion.
Man Ure, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal obviously with their "fans" who live all over the world but never been to a game, and Wet Spam as their fans all live here!

Have a soft spot for Swansea, probably as we got promotion there.
