Publishing Fixtures

so by putting a price tag on the showing of the fixtures the FA are getting back money of which they spent on producing the fixtures? i think i've got it now thats fair enough then i just wanted to know why. i wasn't critisising them.

Not according to the company that has invested heavily in the software that runs all the permutations and allows the fixture lists to be compiled quickly and all released on the same day.

They're not "just fixtures", they're the product of heavy investment in expensive software, and the League wants to recoup the money they've spent in developing that software.

That's why.

Perhaps they could get some slightly cheaper software that doesn't result in clubs having to travel the length of the country mid-week and holiday times. The fixtures always managed to come out on time without the "expensive software".

I think Ian Holloway would agree with that.
He's moaning they had 3 midweek trips to East Anglia next season (Col Ewe, Ipswich & Norwich)
