“@CJPhillips1982: Freddy Eastwood also a doubt with a knee injury he suffered during the warm up before Saturday's game with Brentford.”
Which is exactly what I was implying in my previous posts.

I have concerns about this apparent wager of yours and seek clarification. Are you suggesting that you would accompany your jewels to a barn dance if Freddy could play ten games and prove himself, or are you saying that you would only attend the hoe-down if he'd been given those games and scored fewer than Tomlin? Ten games has been beyond Freddy so far but I suggest that, if he HAD managed ten in a row, your nut-sack would be do-si-do-ing for some time as a result of his low strike rate.
I really thought that this thread was done, but the country and western tinge has given it new life. Yeehah!
Had Freddy been given the same run of games that Tomlin had at the start of the season then I get my bollocks to a barn dance that he would have scored more than Tomlin did. I really like Tomlin but he looked completly non effective as a striker until this recent run.
Had Freddy ten games to play through then he would a) have scored more and b) looked a lot sharper and fitter.
Given ten games at the start of the season when Tomlin could not hit a cow with a banjo (Western theme I know you like) then I can almost guarantee that Freddy would have out scored Tomlin. As it was Tomlin built on his run of not scoring and is now a very credible player. I do however feel that if Freddy had the chances Tomlin had on Saturday we would now be looking forwad to Chelsea rather than the chances are a 3rd round exit.
Freddy is the most natural finisher at the club. Just watching the warm ups tells you that.

If you mean the most natural finisher of the leftovers after dinner then you are probably right.
This is such a pathetic response. Anyone with eyes can see that Eastwood is far from fat. Unless your agenda has blinkered you that much....?

As for the warm up, Firestorms missus would disagree with you.
He finished off her specs pretty well
Oh cheer up. It was a bloody joke
It's not a joke. It's perpetuating a stupid myth which gets portrayed as fact around here too often.
People can make their own minds up as to whether he is overweight or not or can shoot straight....Nobody takes any notice of what i type anyway
Stop press, new forum idea . . Don't talk about anything. If you don't want to read it don't. Mary whitehouse of football forums
But you are saying that PS owes us an explanation as to why he chooses not to pick someone - why ?
I'd say that doesn't need to be notified to give the opponents any advantage. Keeping Freddy jogging up and down the line at odd times suggested to Brentford he might come on.Why wouldnt he explain why he doesnt ?
What secrets are there that fans cant know ?
Freddy is injured so Benyon came on. Why couldnt supporters know that?
Sturrock as manager should pick who he wants, but he is still answerable to whatever decisions he makes.

And the only person he's answerable to is Ron, he doesn't have to tell us anything!
IF it was tactical (which it wasnt) what would be the issue with explaining afterwards ?
I dont expect a manager to explain a selection prior to the game, but there is no reason for him not to justify any selection afterwards.
There is no reason why a player is not selected that cant be explained later.
Your comment is actually undermined by the fact that Sturrock has already explained in the past he feels Tomlin and Britt work better together and that Freddy hasnt managed to forge a partnership. Add to that theres the injury issues on top.
Fans will never just accept selections as we all have differing opinions and thats what the forum is for, to discuss the team.
Like I said above, I wouldnt expect him to announce reasons before or during the game. :dim:
He isnt legally bound to tell us anything but theres not a lot of reason not to either.
If you think a manager isnt answerable to fans then thats a very simplistic viewpoint. We changed the way we play because fans werent happy after all.
