Protest for the Derby Friendly

I fully agree with Prauge blue and Jam man So you stand in the car park shout your abuse just as the few did out side Rons house .And what did it get you nothing .Oh yes his wife came out you didnt see Ron and he is still in power at the Hall .Shouting Ron out wont move him .The only way he will have to go is for the club to go into Administation in the high court .An administrator would then be placed in charge of the club to get the best offer for the club he or she can and maybe the boys with the big money the so called blue knights can rench the club away from Ron . But with Sainsburys backing Ron wont be moved .

Alright then. I don't want to protest, nor will I. It won't make a difference, I don't want to be a part of a negative atmosphere around the start of a new season and I think Ron is the best/only hope we have at this present time.

Sue me.

Bingo.

A protest is not going to magically make Ron walk away, it will achieve nothing but add even more negativity around the club. We've got the makings of a completely fresh squad, which is what we needed after what went on last season, why implant negativity and last season in the new faces?

I'd probably go to the Derby game, but you know what, I can't be arsed to put up wihth grief from a bunch of teenagers outside the ground who will no doubt moan and shout at everyone who walks through the turnstiles for doing so, which means I'll stay away.

If like some have posted want to support the team and not behind the board.

Attend the protest before, the game and after

Which anyone organising the protest (though I assume there will be no organisation and the best that will come out of it is a bunch of people shouting "ron is a ****" again), should bear in mind that just because fans that are going into the ground - it doesnt mean they are happy with the current situation, just they'd rather support things ON the pitch, rather than attempt the impossible OFF it.

Jack, it would be so much more sensible to really get behind the new players ASAP - protest in other ways. Write to Ron, write to the directors, become a share holder, write to the echo, dont go to the games (hence not giving ron any money).

There are better ways than gathering a baying mob at our first home game for this squad.

Because generally in these situations, it's the gobby oiks that become the face of these sort of things. It's what happened in that embarrassing 'protest', or should I say pointless shouting at Ron Martin last season, which was shown on tv and made us even more of a laughing stock.

We'll get behind the players first game of the season, hopefully we'll have the North Bank and we will do our best all season, home and away

To be honest it didn't really make us look like a laughing stock.
Do what you want to do but if you want to go 7pm

Baying mobs have achieved plenty of change in the past, both in football and beyond. It's not the mob that I'd have an issue with it's the lack of any real purpose other than to moan about what has gone on. What do people want to happen? Ron isn't going to want to go anywhere and there don't seem to be alternatives queuing up to take over. It appears that the Consortium are going to stay quiet until Administration and there doesn't seem to be any serious chance of a fan buy-out (still my preferred future for the Club) without Administration either.

Do what you want to do but if you want to go 7pm

The comments from fans of opposing clubs on the internet and the amount of comments I got in work from fans of various other clubs would suggest otherwise. In fact this board at the time would suggest otherwise as well!

this is exactly my point, thank you. it is everyones choice if they do or don't but it seems that people who do want to the others who don't make snide comments or try and be-little them. personally i don't know why people wouldn't want to. but as i say why do people think it's ok for them to choose not to protest and then go on that others who want to.

maybe be it might make a bit of a negative feeling but i think we're way past that stage. pretty obvious really.

Those who want to protest are calling those who choose not to "heartless" and "gutless", amongst other things. I think that is the "belittling" here. Those who CHOOSE not to protest are choosing that course because they think it will actually be counter-productive, not because they care any less about our club than any other fan.

Any protest, to be effective, needs to be a damn site better organised than the previous ones:

The protest at the ground where the bloke just shouted at Ron had most people admiring Ron for coming out to face the crowd, and a certain amount of sympathy.

The protest outside his house was laughable, with his missus coming out and giving everyone a damn good talking to and silly sexist comments about the best anyone could muster in reply.

I'm not against protesting by any means, but small group making a fuss at the Derby match will achieve nothing positive, and risks ****ing off the players and Sturrock - and by gum, we need them happy!

Perhaps some of the protestors, far from being gobby oiks in a baying mob, have gone through the process of writing letters to those supposedly running the club, have attended the Q & A session, and have made no headway whatsoever, so see this as a valid exercise. For some it may be a knee jerk reaction, for others it is possibly a last resort.

It's a case of tough love. Nobody wants to be standing outside a football ground demonstrating against the directors within it. For some, though, in the absence of online eloquence, or unable to take a day for what is seen as a more suitable protest 50 miles away on a working day, it may well be the only way to make the voice heard. Why should they be ignored?

Go to the protest if you wish, ignore it if you want to. But patronising put-downs and drivel from protestors and non-protestors would be best left to one side.

He knows how we feel if it ***** him off, then he needs to realise what a mug our chairman is

He knows how we feel if it ***** him off, then he needs to realise what a mug our chairman is

and you need to realise the chairman pays the manager's wages (hopefully) and it's your opinion he is a mug.

Where's the answers to the previous questions I asked as you cannot just spout statements accusing people of things without some evidence.
