Protest for the Derby Friendly

Sorry son but it seems to me you honestly don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Stick your protest.

at least he gives a **** unlike a lot of people on here. we know its true. we all no half the people on here can't be bothered to protest about the running of the club. come on now. its true and you all know it. funny thing is that the people that do care enough get abuse for it. funny old world aint it.

Because we shouldn't be in the mess we're in.

We shouldn't have a new manager and need to bring in new players.

We shouldn't have winding up orders issued against us.

We should be able to pay our players on time.

We should be able to pay creditors on time.

We shouldn't be constrained by a transfer embargo.

Enough reasons for you?

BUT WE ARE SO WE MUST JUST GET ON WITH IT AND STOP WITH THE PROTEST IDEA!.....

ANY PROTEST HOWEVER LARGE OR SMALL (more likely) WILL NOT CHANGE A THING!

I know all this s**t we are in is Rons fault but give the new players and manager a chance the way I am going to protest is just not to turn up for the games untill this mess is sorted . But why shout abuse in the car park where many new faces will be at the club after all its not there problem . At least they have come to this debt ridden club .

I totally agree with this and posted a similar reply earlier this week.

I would think he has passed on all the promises RM has made to him before he nipped off on Holiday.....Luckily we have come to learn that all RM's promises are 100% true and he has never lied or let anybody down.....

The club has been run very poorly in many ways, Ron Martin cant be blamed for having no massive wealth, however he has let us down none the less.

If people want to protest they should, however Im not sure with 2 weeks to go to the beginning of the season we should be creating a negative atmosphere at the ground.

Yes the protest is aimed at the chairman and not at the players but how must a new player feel anyway if he has joined a club where so much inner turmoils exists.

A protest wont get Ron Martin out anyway.

I have no problem with a protest, Id rather it was done in a way that didnt affect the team, and subjecting Roots Hall to ann angry baying mob again will affect the players whether its intended to or not.

I back ron 100% and am willing to sacrifce my life for his cause. Therefore if I see any of you bloody hippies protesting then prepare for some ultra violence. Long live Ron, may you lead us to the promised land.

I want Ron to be able to promise he will pay any players we sign on time and in full, local businesses and people like HMRC will also be paid in full and on time. I then want to see evidence of this happening. I don't mind where money comes from, and then we can focus on field with whatever/whoever we have. Please make these promises soon Ron as I can't take it much more.

So will you be protesting because you're angry about what has happened? Or are you protesting to achieve change? And if so, what change?

What did you want people to say to you?

well no one's to admit they can't be arsed to go, but we've reached a point where no one not even the most rose-tinted of fans can say they agree with the running of the club. yet still no can be bothered to do anything about it. people may be right a protest may not do anything but at least it gets our point across in a tiny way. everyone knows its not about managers or players just about him ruining our club.

but the worst bit of all is when some people who do care enough to try and organise something you get the same old people bringing everyone down. its happened on every thread related to this. and the gods honest truth is not everyone can be arsed. people will deny to high heaven but everyone knows this is actually the case.

Alright then. I don't want to protest, nor will I. It won't make a difference, I don't want to be a part of a negative atmosphere around the start of a new season and I think Ron is the best/only hope we have at this present time.

Sue me.

Look, if people want to protest, then let them do so. They don't need to justify why they are doing it. They pay their money and are entitled a voice. Just as those who feel there is no need to protest, have the right to abstain from such actions. The common denominator is we all care about our club. Let's all try and understand that we show it in different, but equally acceptable ways.

Tell people what your protest is about and what you're looking to change and maybe people will join in. I don't think people "can't be arsed" at all.

No one is happy with what has gone on the past couple of years but right now I'm not seeing a credible alternative.

That would be fine if some of those who choose to protest weren't so quick to take up the attitude that mattytheshrimper is showing in this thread that they are the only ones who care and everyone else just can't be arsed.

I think that's just it...

Stereotypically, people who are organising/participating in the protest are quick to label those who aren't doing the same as sitting on their hands, being lazy, being Pro-Ron or just not caring enough about the club to do so. Just because people either choose not to protest or disagree with certain sentiments of it (i.e. pboreham's point about generating a negative atmosphere for the new management/players being a very good point) doesn't mean they don't care about the club, just that they choose to show/act on their support in different ways.

Just on this site alone, it's being incredibly divisive when, essentially, both "factions" have the same end game: what's best for the club.

this is exactly my point, thank you. it is everyones choice if they do or don't but it seems that people who do want to the others who don't make snide comments or try and be-little them. personally i don't know why people wouldn't want to. but as i say why do people think it's ok for them to choose not to protest and then go on that others who want to.

maybe be it might make a bit of a negative feeling but i think we're way past that stage. pretty obvious really.
