In the 70's I used to work with Neil Townsend's wife and a girl I worked with in the same office ended up marrying Ron Pountney, I think if my memory serves me right. My cousin Steve Lamb also had a brief spell with the blues, and I went to college with a blues defender but can't remember his name though.

So I've just found out today that Neil Harris's sister works at the same company as me and I've been chatting to her for 5 years and had no idea, even though her surname was Harris till she got married. Apparently Neil is always telling her if anyone wants anything signed to get them to give it to her and he will do the needful.


Does anyone else work with any of the players rellies and not know for a period of time.

Bizarrely, my mates missus also works with Neil Harris' sister, and also mentioned the same. Saturday aside, he hasn't done enough for me to sacrifice my beloved jersey to his signature.

So you most likely work directly with my mates' missus.....Her boyfriend is a dirty 'O', so make sure you find out and give her plenty of stick!

My younger brother(not Shrimpero,the other one) played against him in the yoof league when SL was with Canvey(Peter Taylor was in the same Canvey team).He might remember Eastwood Ranger's game against Canvey.ER went 1-0 up and then lost 18-1.Spud got 6.SL got a few too.I joined ER's around that time but fortunately my registration hadn't been processed in time for the Canvey game.:whistling:
I remember seeing one or two of Steve's(very few) games for the Blues.Unfortunately,he wasn't in the same class as Spud.

Looking at sufcdb - Steve Lamb made 7 full appearances and 1 as a sub for us before he joined Chelmsford.

Even more bizarrely, I have just found out today I work with Rolf Harris' sister. Should have realised years ago from the Aussie accent and the way she is always doodling on a notepad and asking if I can tell what it is yet

Two Points

1) She could be quite a lot of years younger than Rolf if Rolf was the firstborn and she was the lastborn
2) TS could be just as old as her anyway
