Breaking News Players not paid for January **Sky Sports News**

As you know, we have had a lot of defeats lately, have i been on blaming Tilson and the team, no. Do you go to work for love or money, come clean Ron Martin and then you will be much better thought of, take off the glasses Brettie Angell and..........!

Fair enough you haven't been on here after some poor performances recently.

I haven't got "rose tinted glasses" on, I'm as worried as anyone else about whats going on!

Do I have all the answers? No.
Do I know the full truth about whats happening? No.
Do I scream and shout hysterically about it? No.

Ok questions we need to ask ourselves.

So the players have not been paid on time again, have they now been paid by the PFA, if so we are now in an embargo.

Does this explain why we cannot sign Kelvin Jack and have missed out on a striker?

Also is the Echo being used as a convenient scape goat and made to look like bad guys to cover up the goings on at Roots Hall.

What does the Echo actually gain from reporting such lies? I am sure Slipper will tell you the Rags print speculative stories to increase the readership for a few weeks, after all the amount nationals can shift makes it worthwhile even if it is made up. I cannot see a similar effect occurring with the Echo.

I think it is time we demand the truth from the Roots Hall hierarchy as we seem to be blindly going from one crock of ***** to another.

I think things are fast coming to a head. Ican see either Tilson walking out, or some type of player revolt. In a way i hope it happens, its about time the truth came to the surface. Isee no way that Martin can continue to keep the good ship Southend afloat for much longer.

More to the point, it doesn't explain why we are going for yet another striker.

We have two on loan in Vernon and Watt, with Paterson, Spencer, Freedman and Laurent all also available.

How many do we need?

Technically, with this story, The Echo can't be pursued with a libel case and Alan McCormack is to thank for that. By stating that he hasn't been paid in the public domain, he can be used as a source whether he likes it or not and papers print what their sources tell them.

The PFA doesn't step in every time players aren't paid, they can pay wages when they are asked to and it doesn't look the case here at all, especially as the club are seemingly denying the allegations.

Therefor, no embargo as far as I'm aware. The striker could've turned us down for any number of reasons, as could Kelvin Jack. Maybe he wants a longer deal, Maybe he's not happy with the fee he'll recieve should he feature. We don't know, so it'd be unfair to comment.

Until something more concrete arrives, i.e. a club statement, people are gossiping about what appears to be speculation and hearsay.

But we want, no sorry, need quality. Laurent IS, but he's also hit and miss. Paterson, Spencer and Vernon are still unknown quantities IMO. Tilly would have seen them a lot more than us, and if still thinks he needs another striker, then i'll trust him. As or Freedman, well, the less sadi about him the better

Sounds like good business practice to me.

Encouraging people to boycott the Pizza Shop is bad business practise and morally appalling.

I own a business and would never bad mouth clients/rivals etc because it would look cheap and say more about me than said clients/rivals.

It's all unravelling for Martini and his silence is deafening. Heart breaking really, that our club is in this state.

How do you know they have not? Who needs to ask the PFA? The club or the PFA Rep at the club?

Because we couldn't deny the allegations if the PFA were infact paying the wages, because the PFA would simply come in and say something to the effect of "Err, in actual fact, we're paying the wages" and then RM would have a case to answer.

Now I know i do not spend my whole day trawling through all the SUFC sites, but where exactly have SUFC denied the allegation that the PFA has paid the January wages to the players?

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but there hasn't been an allegation made that the PFA are paying our wages... I was responding to your notion that if they were, we'd be under an embargo.

Tilson always wants more strikers, seem to always have 7 on the cards when we barely have enough defenders...

At some point it would be nice to give the ones we already have a fair crack at the whip.

From what I saw against Swindon Spencer and Vernon worked well and Id like to see them given a chance in a few games.

Good so now prove to me that the PFA have not paid the Jan wages. You seem to have some time on your hands. It just smacks to me that everytime a player signing on hits a snag this season, we find the reason was due to an embargo.

Regarding Kelvin, he has been out of contract and training with us for a while, do you think his terms would have been out of our reach, and would Tilly really contemplate this move if he did not know for definite the player would sign. So what has caused this signing to fail. Me thinks an embargo is the most likely answer. I guess I came to this conclusion over lunch.

Where's the Barney money gone! :whistling:

Its not just that - what about Freddy's money? The Man U game? Cup finals, play-offs, The Chelse....

Mind, did you know Peter Clarke cost us over £1m in his time here? Bet you didnt, it rarely gets mentioned either.

:D

How about the other club employees have they been paid? I wonder if the new commercial bloke that started the other day has been paid.

Chester City players refused to play the other night because they have not been paid. Could this happen to us?

Bucket collection tomorrow anyone?

This embargo didnt stop Vernon. Baldwin or Watt signing though?

Unless a new embargo has been applied following court hearing ?
