We haven't 'improved season on season'. The previous season disregarding the 10noint penalty we would have had 75 points and has a better goals record. We regressed this season but managed to sneak into the playoffs anyway.
Our lower points tally is largely down to an awful first half of the season where we only managed 27 points in 23 matches.

In the second half of the season we've picked up 1.78 points a match, which is an improvement on the 1.63 ppg (ignoring the deduction) we had last season.

I am happy we are in the playoffs but that owed a lot to other teams falling away rather than our own form.

Altrincham is a curious case.

They seemed to be doing fine up to 8th March - they had just beaten York away and had 20 points from their last 10 league games but they then got absolutely dismantled in the first half of the next match and their confidence never recovered. After that they just took 9 points from their last 13 league matches.

I don't doubt that you want the club to do well.

I also don't doubt that a huge part of you is bursting at the seams to say "I told you so" if Maher fails, and would take great joy in doing so.
Not at all. I have no personal animosity towards Maher, my comments are based on watching every game in which he has been in charge and drawing conclusions from that. I would take no pleasure in the event of being proved right in the end.

Losing Linney for a few games after his apparent elbow fling at GSM didn’t help their cause.

@Barling Magna, are you reading this, old geezers with sticks info.
Ha! Discrimination against the elderly. Lentil chewing swine! Veggie burger buggers!

If I recall correctly the away fans at FGR are just given an open terrace to stand on. Therefore I shall punish them by refusing to go. The quorn knitting bastards stole our Harry anyway so I shall not honour them with my presence.

Of course there's the small matter of defeating the Dale first.....
