True, it is extremely unlikely, but you never know. This league is mad. I was just making a mathematical point. Maybe I should have added how unlikely it is in my initial post.Oldham are playing Ebbsfleet at home, so are rather unlikely to be dropping points.
Can’t see any good reason why the National League have made them midweek either.Bit of a nightmare mid week play off game in Manchester, going to be difficult for many people to get there, me included. Can't remember such a big game so far away mid week!
That's the downside of finishing 7th, if we do. Had we picked up just a few more points we wouldn't have been having this discussion. I do agree though, it's rubbish scheduling on the part of the NL. And, in the unlikely event of the Heed winning, we won't give a toss. Can’t see any good reason why the National League have made them midweek either.
They should have just done both sets of play off games over the weekends of the 10th and 11th and 17th and 18th. But that would be far too sensible and considerate towards the fans, something the National League are clearly incapable of.
No not worried didn’t expect to have a chance like this anyway, let’s strap ourselves in and enjoy the ride the Southend way.Don't wish to be a party pooper, but we do have to get past Gateshead next. It's not a foregone conclusion. We've been so inconsistent this season, no one else worried?
Yes I thought that. Absolutely no reason at all to have weeknight games with free weekends just going begging in between! Can’t see any good reason why the National League have made them midweek either.

Post of the dayDon't wish to be a party pooper, but we do have to get past Gateshead next. It's not a foregone conclusion. We've been so inconsistent this season, no one else worried?
Nope.Don't wish to be a party pooper, but we do have to get past Gateshead next. It's not a foregone conclusion. We've been so inconsistent this season, no one else worried?
Did you get a bang on the head Saturday?Nope.
THe last 4yrs i was worried. Now i'm on top of the world baby, you know we'll gatecrash the playoffs.
Their playmaker in midfield, he'll be tied up in knots by Coker whilst Keenan will run through his legs. And with the amount of fans supporting Southend, it'll feel like a home game. I cant remembee the last time we had the opportunity to take 4 thousand, White Hart Lane maybe?
Other than Wembley, talking about a league game. Am i forgetting somewhere in the last 10yrs or more?Did you get a bang on the head Saturday?
Nah, I thought you were suggesting we would take 4k to the Heed.Other than Wembley, talking about a league game. Am i forgetting somewhere in the last 10yrs or more?
Yes indeed! Whilst the last two performances have been great, there is the niggling little worry at the back of my mind that we have a Braintree or Solihull Moors performance in our locker. More positively, the last two results will have given us confidence and belief and quite honestly, as Swiss Tony said, I didn't expect to be in this position. I'm not quite sure how I'll be Monday week...........in cricketing terms, it's rather like a free hit. If we score a boundary....GREAT!!!.......if we miss out.....meahh! Incidently, I trust the team won't approach it with the same philosophy!Don't wish to be a party pooper, but we do have to get past Gateshead next. It's not a foregone conclusion. We've been so inconsistent this season, no one else worried?
Doncaster away in the play off semi was a night game. Sadly that didn’t go too well but this time will be a different outcome!Bit of a nightmare mid week play off game in Manchester, going to be difficult for many people to get there, me included. Can't remember such a big game so far away mid week!
Dont we always lose when that happensIs it still tradition to go fancy dress last away game of the season?
Nope we beat fylde 2-0 last season when people went fancy dressDont we always lose when that happens![]()
Then all systems go on the fancy dressNope we beat fylde 2-0 last season when people went fancy dress
That was on a Fri night. Probably by the amount of fans we took there, easier to make arrangements for than a Tues or Wed's night with not a lot difference in the required journey?.Doncaster away in the play off semi was a night game.
