People keep saying this: They have picked up the same number of points as we have in the last 10 games.
I was thinking this earlier. The thing they've been doing better than us recently is a better goal difference. But recent points per game is very simar.

IF this continues, they won't catch us.

All we need to focus on is winning as many as our remaining games as we can. The rest will sort itself out. Never dull being a shrimper!

Two more actually. Their 19 to our 17.
If Tamworth and Southend win on Saturday, the points gained over the last ten matches will go up to 21 for them and 19 for us, as we both drew the oldest game in the ten match sequence. Here is the link to the last ten matches form guide on the Fishy site, which I quoted in my post number 858.

But if they only draw their next game away to Maidenhead (unlikely, given form, but the latter team do have an tendency to do the Devonshire on teams, not least twice on us this season) and we win, we will both be on 19 points over the last ten matches, and crucially, we will be 4 points ahead of them with a better goal difference, and only 5 matches to go. Come on you Blues (and Maidenhead).

Oh, and Woking tomorrow, and Yeovil, Dagenham and Redbridge, and Eastleigh on Saturday....

on paper the only easy game we have should be against EBBSFLEET as they have nothing to play for,but you just know Moncur and the ex Southend players with them are going to play so well,Wealdstone are fighting for salvation as are D^R, Solihull got nothing to play for virtually same as Sutton now So in all seriousness the easiest games in our last 6 appear to be Sutton and Solihull being their seasons probably over, trouble with that reasoning is the players they have maybe playing for a contract same goes with Woking think they playing for survival also,

The Ebbsfleet game worries me. We struggled there last year at a similar time of year. Now they have their fate confirmed, they are playing with no fear and the handbrake off. The last 2 games have proved that. A 3-3 draw with Aldershot (who were in great form) and a 2-2 draw with Altrincham. 5 goals scored in 2 games isn't too shabby. We have to be very careful with this fixture.

I am going to have to disagree with you on the part of Solihull and Sutton being the easiest games because experience tells me that the teams with nothing to play of can be the more trickier ones because the pressure for them is totally off.

i did say the players were playing for their contract

extra time and a few injuries would be helpful as well
Could really do with Will Davies getting a little knock for Saturday. Then recover in time for us to sign him in the summer. He's out of contract then and at 25 and notching 18 goals this season, could be a great addition. May just be out of our price range though unfortunately. One can hope.

They play without pressure and perhaps are more creative and make less mistakes - IF they are allowed to.

What they likely lack is the resilience, intensity and work rate that (should) come with having something to play for.

I think KAF said that in the remaining games maintaining intensity and work rate will be very important. Do that and you have an advantage against teams with nothing to play for. And you at least match those fighting for relegation whilst having better players.

Indeed. Equally, sides who have York and FGR away may be getting lucky as they will soon be moreorless asssured of 2 and 3 respectively and rest key players ahead of the P-O's
