Is an extremely simple act of class - to welcome a former Shrimper back home with a few words while announcing the line-ups.
It should be done for every ex-Southend United player.

Completely agree.

It could be done ironically for Bailey :)

I would like to see ex-players presented with a nice hamper or some vouchers.

Never rated him.
Always gave 100% though
Nor did i, him and Barrett had a nightmare at the back in one season, conceding 80 plus i believe, though to be fare i think that was in the Champ, but always seemed to have trouble with deadball situations.

Centre-back play is about partnerships. In the same way that Thommo looks a player reborn alongside Anton, Clarke looked a class act with Dorian Dervite. Some pairings click better than others. I never doubted PC's efforts for this football club and I'd happily applaud him back at Roots Hall.

For me the only thing that let him down was his distribution. I was amazed at how often he over-hit a pass.

yep agree with this, always looked for a long ball over the top instead of playing out from the back, how we have moved on to better centre backs:thumbsup:

IMO he looked a good player ONLY really alongside DERVITTE....Could never ever fault his commitment but there were always too many last ditch tackles and blocking of the ball when better reading of the game (Anton Ferdinand) would have worked better

He was always a class act for us and his memory slightly diminished by RM trying to blame his own personal failings on Clarke's price tag. While Barrett was the fan's favourite Clarke was grafting and doing the hard stuff and making it look simple. I hope he gets a good reception.

If anything people's opinions of him were probably improved by an unpopular chairman trying to blame him.
