What incensed us was that after the last Swindon game when DeCanio drove us all mad with his antics during (and after) the match, the match day announcer stopped DeCanio on his way into the tunnel to have his picture taken with him!! He was then surprised when we called out our "displeasure".

Yep I'm all for TB to be the matchday announcer. Get the crowd going before the match is what we need like other clubs.

The present one is an embarrassment and makes me and my mates makes cringe whenever he say's anything. The away fans must be laughing their socks off, and think their at a non league game!

Also can someone at the club turn down/off that god awful music/din they keep playing at ear splitting decibels, especially in the south upper before and at half time as I'm seriously considering bring some industrial ear defenders at the next match! Or probably just change the music once in a while.

Sorry to anyone who I might of offended who likes the music!

I'll swop seats with you then as like i said earlier i can't hear anything from the Family Enclosure

Who else remembers the minutes slience for Queen Elizabeth the 1st (when the Queen Mum died) !!, i had forgotten until I read that archived thread

We all have "second" teams, however Mick is a long standing supporter of SUFC, I remember him from the old "away club" weekend trip to Plymouth in February 1974 when he shared the room I was in, as well as many other trips when the "away" support was about 30 each match. Perhaps you should go to Fulham as listen to Diddy David Hamiltion asking the supporters to welcome chairman "Mo" as he enters the ground!

I certainly don't!!

I certainly don't!!

Fair enough, pre match in the pub on Saturday lunchtime the discussion will often involve other peoples second teams, mostly premier teams although I know of two blues supporters one who has a season ticket at Ipswich and the other has one at Upton Park. As a matter of interest my second team is Forfar Athletic who I go to watch once a season!

I will talk about football from all other divisions in the pub. Doesn't mean one of them has to be my 'second team'.

Southend United are my one and only and I know I'm not alone in saying that.

I think its an age thing .. my dad was always Southend/Tottenham as we had so many games on a Friday night he had ample opportunity to go up to London on a Saturday

I've always 'liked' Man Utd and back in the late 80s / early90s i used to go watch them a bit if The Blues weren't playing, no such thing as all ticket games back then just turn up and squeeze you in .. Hillsborough changed all that of course

As Southend became successful and reached the second tier we had more Saturday games so fewer opportunities to galavant around the country, coupled with Sky and ticket and train prices going through the roof you simply couldn't afford more than one game a week so as the younger lads came through they chose Southend and Southend alone

Thats my view anyway

Care to share ??

Jeff Allen was under the impression that the Queen Mother was Elizabeth the first(presumably on the basis that the present Queen is Liz the second).Obviously he missed the classes on Francis Drake,Shakespeare,The Armada and all that historical stuff at school.
Amusingly, his gaffe even made Private Eye.
