One Day - Week 1

Tomkins 9-0-52-0
Thomas* 91 (95 balls)
Ramsden 50 (73 balls)
Last Wicket: Holt c. Nichols b. Gower 2 (FOW: 70/5)
41.6 3 Tomkins to Thomas
Thomas picks up three through the leg side with a neat flick.
41.5 1 Tomkins to Ramsden
Ramsden chances Jenny's arm but scampers through for a single.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

GET IN THERE!

Ramsden is a legend. He's only a proficient-superb, but has seen me home countless times, including now my maiden win in the top flight.

A tense finish here

End of Over 41: 215-1, runrate=5.24, reqrunrate=7.56 (282-10)

Darby 105 (126 balls)

Last Wicket: Howard b. Plummer 107 (FOW: 230/2)

42.6 1 Plummer to Wild
Wide of off and smacked into the covers. The sweeper does the fielding.
42.5 W Plummer to Howard
Charges down the wicket only to be deceived by the slower offcutter which pegs back middle and leg stump! Bowled 'em!

Close one here as well, but could do with a wicket or 2

Nice win YB

Right, 2 medium pacers to finish - Middleton (Remarkable / Strong) set Attacking, and Curle (Superb / Remarkable) set Defensive, going to the wire

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Wazzes Wanderers

Wazzes Wanderers won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 44: 218-2, runrate=4.95, reqrunrate=8.83 (270-6)
Brinkhuys 10-0-55-0
Prag* 47 (47 balls)
Gain 116 (121 balls)

Last Wicket: Sherrington st. Evelyn b. Oconnor 46 (FOW: 124/2)

Ooh - a couple of wickets, but a few runs as well

45.2 W Curle to Gain
In the air………… and out! An excellent catch over his shoulder by the man at deep square leg.
45.1 1 Curle to Farrell
Slower delivery, slogged to the off, extra cover fielding.

End of Over 45: 227-3, runrate=5.04, reqrunrate=8.80 (270-6)
Middleton 8-0-59-1
Farrell* 5 (2 balls)
Gain 120 (124 balls)

Last Wicket: Prag b. Middleton 47 (FOW: 218/3)

44.6 . Middleton to Gain
That came right off the meat of the bat but went straight to point. Middleton was lucky to get away with that delivery.
44.5 . Middleton to Gain
Good line and length. Gain doesn't play a shot and it goes through to the keeper.
44.4 4 Middleton to Gain
Cracked straight back past the bowler and the seagulls on the boundary rise into the air in alarm as the ball streaks through their midst.
44.3 1 Middleton to Farrell
He miscued the pull into his boot and hobbles down to the other end for one.
44.2 4 Middleton to Farrell
Short and picked up to mid wicket for a boundary.
44.1 W Middleton to Prag
BOWLED! A little jig of delight by Middleton as Prag troops back to the pavillion.

End of Over 44: 218-2, runrate=4.95, reqrunrate=8.83 (270-6)

Both their 'in' batsmen out. Some pretty decent new batsmen in, but that should just have swung it your way.
Yep, 10 an over now, so should be safe.

Edit - might have spoken too soon

46.1 6 Middleton to Alder
Thwack! He's struck that ball on the up and it's landed 10 rows back.

Edit again - Obviously "Harrods" bowling

46.2 W Middleton to Alder
What a superlative catch! Alder has just been dispatched by an unbelievable ball and following catch from Middleton, diving full length to his left. Impeccable reflexes, simply impeccable.

Ouch. BB has just been hit for 9 off the first 3 balls of the penultimate over. Worse thing is the batsman who hit the last 4 is rubbish.

24 runs off the last 2 overs have left them needing 7 to win off the last, crap bat is on strike though.

Edit

49.1 W Curle to Hoult
Edged and gone! A crackerjack of a delivery from Curle! That did just enough and Hoult feathers an edge through to Evelyn, who makes no mistake.

7 off 5 now

Another edit

49.2 W Curle to Finch
Brilliant work from Evelyn! The bails were off in a flash. Finch thought he was safe but the 3rd umpire has lit the red light. OUT!

7 off 4

49.4 1 Curle to Farrell
Pokes it away and there's a single to the total.
49.3 1 Curle to Ashmore
Ashmore chips it over the infield and it lands safely in no-man's land on the leg side and they can jog a single.

5 off 2 - crap bat on strike

yet another edit

49.5 . Curle to Ashmore
He attempts to work it away on the leg side, but only manages to play it short into the ground.

4 to tie, 6 to win, last ball

YYYYYEEEESSSSS

49.6 . Curle to Ashmore
Textbook forward defence there.

Won by 4 runs !!!!
