It's not just the fact that we have a threadbare defence, but the fact that we've gone from a fantastic position at christmas to potentially out of the playoffs, we have no clarity regarding our best formation and team, we have pretty much every player except maybe Bentley and Leonard under-performing and if we don't go up this season then it's only going to be harder next (assuming the ground news doesn't result in a major upturn in our finances).

Brown appears to have lost the squad and lost the plot. Ron has never been one to fire a manager without someone else lined up... and I wonder if he's been manoeuvring and the recent interview is his way to highlight to a potential replacement that the ground is nearly here.

Sacking Sturrock and bringing in Brown did us the world of good didnt it.

How fickle are we if we have a run of poor results and start talking about sacking a manager that everyone was raving about 6 weeks ago.

I didn't agree with sacking Sturrock and I wasn't convinced with Brown as his replacement. I've never been convinced with Brown to be honest.

I do agree that we're like a ship without a rudder at the moment but I do think the injury to Prosser has caused us major problems. I personally don't think Mark Phillips is good enough anymore and although he played alright on Saturday I'm still not convinced by Adam Thompson. Wouldn't have signed him permanently. Brown's been very unlucky with O'Neill and Bolger getting injured when they're covering other injuries. I don't think a change of manager will help this season

Same player we ditched as soon as we went up who then did nothing else ?

He had his moments and his pace was his strength, but he didnt have a lot else.

We didn't do much the season after we dumped him either. If you remember he had bad spell of injuries after he left us.

Why do you think Straker has played so many games this season?

What do you think made Wayne Gray such a good player for us?

And why do you think Straker gets a regular game this season?

Gray was a lot of things but he wasn't "such a good player". Useful, and had his moments - but inconsistent and one-dimensional.

But for League 2 he was just what we wanted and needed.

13 goals in 56 appearances in that season. 1 goal in more than 4 games, hardly inspiring.

Did add a different option and will always remember the overhead goal against Port Vale and the goal against Bristol City, but I was never his biggest fan.

Indeed..
