NL Streaming Platform Launched

Sounds like the quality of the stream is a bit of a lottery which really shouldn't be the case if they're going to charge £9.50 for one game.

I had planned to use this fairly regularly during the second half of the season. Last night I made a snap decision to travel to the game rather than pay for a stream so I dodged a bullet there.

Now I think I'll probably only pay for games hosted by the bigger clubs, as that would seem a safer option. Might give it a go for Notts County and Oldham, probably not for Dorking and Altrincham. No disrespect intended to those clubs, but others' experience of Bromley and Maidenhead doesn't bode well.
I think you're absolutely correct, it is something of a lottery. Back in December I had purchased a pass for our game against Boreham Wood which was subsequently postponed due to a frozen pitch. As I had the pass and it expired the day after our match would have been played I decided to watch Eastleigh v Wrexham. I didn't know what the coverage would be like but was pleasantly surprised as the picture quality was great and the commentary, also pretty good, was from BBC Solent. Last night was at the other end of the spectrum unfortunately.

To be fair about all this, I don't blame the clubs really, this is down to the Wrexham circus and all the sycophants cooing all over Daredevil and his mate. The sooner they **** off out of here the better really. It's not raised the profile of the division at all really, if anything it makes clubs like Maidenhead seem unable to cope in a party that some fallen league teams have crashed and feel a god given right to have the best of the best on offer.

This stuff takes time to sort out and unfortunately it makes things like last night seem worse than it is.

I think that's only maidenheads 2nd home game since the streaming begun, probably their 1st night game. So can understand some teething problems - but it doesn't mean supporters should have to pay for the poor quality.

Hopefully they'll learn from the problems and sort them for the next game. Similar to Bromley, I didn't notice any problem with their stream when I looked in on it a week or so ago

For anyone who has emailed NL about last night's game, have you heard back yet? I emailed first thing this morning and haven't got anything back yet,

I take your point - but it couldn't have been much worse than it was.
Maidenhead had a dry run against Wealdstone on NYD, and as far as I know, things were OK.
Part of that game would have been in darkness, so did anyone at Maidenhead think to check the quality before this game?
You know, point the camera over here and let's have a test look sort of thing?
Had they done so, they would have seen the problems for themselves, and pulled the feed before the myriad of complaints.
If the NL beforehand asked Maidenhead were things in order? And the club thumbsed-up, they were lying, and should be held to account.

It was half price when first launched but not many games took place that week due to the weather - they should have extended that deal until they were sure issues had been resolved. You would assume they would want to attract regular customers.

2 x emails sent and no response. I might threaten them with the citizens advice bureau in the next one. that should get them quaking in their boots....

If I'm counting more or less accurately, at least eight on here, inc moi, have emailed their complaints.
I for one, aint gonna let it rest, and want a free pass before next Tuesday, or they'll be getting anything but a Valentine!

I'll give them 24 hours more to respond to my email (sent at half-time with screen shots and notice that I was going to use stop using the service) and then start the laborious process of getting a refund from PayPal.

Hopefully they'll simply issue a credit voucher that I can use for the Halifax game.

Didn’t National League clubs steam their matches in the 20/21 lockdown season?

Our cup tie at Boreham Wood was streamed and I watched our under 23s at Dorking.

If its any consolation I rocked up at the ground yesterday with ticket on my phone and it wouldn't scan. They tried several times and each time it was the same issue.

Person scanning (about 16) asked his boss who turned around, gave me a look up and down and said to just let me in.

Now, after checking in the ground I have to admit it was all my fault. I have lots of tickets saved down on my phone and the first try I accidently gave them to ticket to Kings Lynn from 2021. After finding my mistake I then located the maidenhead ticket but it wasn't going through.

Turns out I was trying to get in with last years ticket. I accidently went into my 2021/2022 away tickets folder rather than 2022/2023.

So if they can't spot the date was wrong on the ticket (my fault completely) I don't hold out much hope that they are technically minded at Maidenhead. I presume the young lad on the commentary was only there as he has experience of equipment from this century and the old codger next to him couldn't work out how to turn it all on.

I sent an email too but no reply yet. I did check the 4 other streams on that night as you can flick between games and they looked all good.

Nothing yet. Not surprised.
Also reminded them I'd had no reply about the emails I sent in respect of the Bromley game which had no commentary, but was mainly about the loss of picture and buffering.
Maybe watchdog, papers, CAB, though I suspect not enough numbers have been affected for it to be taken up by mainstream media.
Is there any sort of exec chairmans email address to email I wonder, or is it too small an outfit to have that kind of set up.
The more I think about it, Id rather have refunds for classing it asfaulty goods than a credit for another game.

I agree with a lot of this, but if clubs are not able to provide even the most basic of coverage because they don't have the facilities (which is fair enough), then they should be excluded from the streaming deal.
