He obviously hasn't been on here yet then.Full interview here. It's a really good one. He's really ambitious. He also mentions going for the play-offs.

Or more recently Aaron Ramsdale at ArsenalGreat interview.....one of the best. Seems very confident and positive about his and the club's future.
I posted this on another thread over the weekend, but having read some Barnet fan's thoughts on Hayes, it was his inability to play the sweeper keeper role as effectively as Dean Brennan wanted that saw him lose his place in their side.
Rather similar to when Pep ousted Joe Hart at Man City.
From what I saw of him whilst on loan at Solihull last season, I do feel that he has a weakness when dealing with crosses, but there's no denying that he's an excellent shot stopper.
I used to play short stop for my work softball team. I could give him a few tips.Pleased with this signing. Thought he looked a very assured short stopper during his short loan spell here. Think that gives us two above average keepers at this level. I’d have taken him over Justham.
The one glaring weakness in his game was his distribution so it will be interesting to see how this has developed in his time away from us. He was much less comfortable on the ball than Collin (who plays with the ease of an outfield player at times). I’d imagine this is why he lost his place at Barnet who try and build from the back. Hayes is more of a Goodliffe than a Golding in that respect and he’ll look to get rid of the ball to a team mate or just clear rather than be able to play a pass under pressure.
I think he makes an excellent back-up to Collin, and will get the opportunity for the rest of the season if Collin’s injury is as bad as people are suggesting.
That’s all very well, Yorkers, but it’s usually the ball that players fire at the keeper, not their shorts.Pleased with this signing. Good, if there’s time to play the pass great, but I think most of us would rather see it sent safe long rather than the risky overplaying at the back.Pleased with this signing. Agreed. You see Prem teams/keepers making mistakes regularly playing risky passes. When under pressure it's always best to clear it in my mind.Good, if there’s time to play the pass great, but I think most of us would rather see it sent safe long rather than the risky overplaying at the back.
I saw that too. Found the game he scored in and……….he didn’t! He went up for the corner, but definitely wasn’t his goal.Google reckon he has a goal this season?![]()

Seen a lot of comments from Barnet fans saying that’s basically why he lost his place. Manager wants to play out from the back and he can’t do it. So I’m not sure he’s developed much in that respect since he’s been away. But that aside, he’s a really solid keeper and we may just have to slightly adapt how we play with him in the side.Pleased with this signing. You do talk rubbish sometimes. It's a full nude photo.Don’t all new starters get a SZ invite package on signing consisting of a mug, rose tinted glasses and a signed semi-nude pic of @Cricko?

I’m guessing you didn’t see Raya playing for Arsenal against Newcastle tonight. It can get difficult to understand what most people want as the board has been littered with complaints about Maher’s safety first approach.
I think this is the difference between us as amateur footballers who lack the ability to safely pass across the back line and modern pros who can do so safely. I think in recent seasons we may have even conceded more goals from hastily cleared balls to no-one in particular than we have from playing it around at the back - despite only rarely hacking it upfield rather than trying to play out from the back.
Did Raya follow instructions? Is the system to play a 50:50 ball to a marked defender putting him instantly under pressure?I’m guessing you didn’t see Raya playing for Arsenal against Newcastle tonight.
It is comedy capers every week in the Premier League. I have seen Gordon’s goal over and over again this season, and STILL managers think that is the way to play!

How ironic that Arteta moved on the best English keeper, Ramsdale,, because he wasn’t as good as Raya at tapping the ball around with his defenders.Did Raya follow instructions? Is the system to play a 50:50 ball to a marked defender putting him instantly under pressure?
Seems to be working for them tbf, if they don't go up though then they'll be lucky to find another loanee that can play that way next season, at which point they'll wish they'd kept Hayes.Sound like this Barnet fan had an inability to engage with the reality of non league football.
But they can't - that's the point. Watch match of the day every week - goals being conceded from teams playing it around at the back are standard these days.I think this is the difference between us as amateur footballers who lack the ability to safely pass across the back line and modern pros who can do so safely.
Doesn’t necessarily mean that clubs are letting in more goals than before they started playing possession football from the back*. It might be less goals overall are conceded but mistakes are (obviously) more noticeable with calamitous clips easily produced and circulated on social media. But they can't - that's the point.
