Breaking News Nick Hayes Signs

It's all about opinions but I have not been very impressed with him on ocassions. Also Barnet dropped him. Hope he does well but I would prefer Collin. Will be interesting to see who keeps the number one spot when Collin is fit.
Strange isn't it but fair play. I thought he was great. Fingers crossed he does well.

Good signing. Not a particularly long contract considering his age. Will be a tough job keeping both him and Collin happy - assuming both are still with us next season

This is one of the best signings weve made. To get out of the league you need a good solid keeper and he fits the bill. Not sure why he got dropped by Barnet but thats football. Would be my first choice based on what weve seen previously and know we would have got him in the summer if not for the embargo as was one of our main targets. Should Start Saturday over Harness. Welcome back Nick

Great interview.....one of the best. Seems very confident and positive about his and the club's future.

I posted this on another thread over the weekend, but having read some Barnet fan's thoughts on Hayes, it was his inability to play the sweeper keeper role as effectively as Dean Brennan wanted that saw him lose his place in their side.
Rather similar to when Pep ousted Joe Hart at Man City.

From what I saw of him whilst on loan at Solihull last season, I do feel that he has a weakness when dealing with crosses, but there's no denying that he's an excellent shot stopper.

Gradually Kev is rebuilding the side hopefully we can continue to pick up points and get out of this league not sure if its this season or next but please sooner

Very happy with this. Most rounded keeper we’ve had since Steve. I like Colin and I think he has always improved but you’re never 100% sure he doesn’t have a howler in him. He’ll keep developing

Well well- there is not a team at our level that has this quality in number 1 and number 2 keepers now. Great signing - I really rate Collin, this lad will come here to compete with him

Pleased with this signing. Thought he looked a very assured short stopper during his short loan spell here. Think that gives us two above average keepers at this level. I’d have taken him over Justham.

The one glaring weakness in his game was his distribution so it will be interesting to see how this has developed in his time away from us. He was much less comfortable on the ball than Collin (who plays with the ease of an outfield player at times). I’d imagine this is why he lost his place at Barnet who try and build from the back. Hayes is more of a Goodliffe than a Golding in that respect and he’ll look to get rid of the ball to a team mate or just clear rather than be able to play a pass under pressure.

I think he makes an excellent back-up to Collin, and will get the opportunity for the rest of the season if Collin’s injury is as bad as people are suggesting.
