****...Could have been a superb punting weekend just gone.

First my asian handicap +1.0 with Bolton and my 0-0 correct score were robbed by Berbatov and now the Eagles lose after fighting back.

A definite re-enforcement of the value of trading out some cash when your bet goes well, mind!

There were plenty of stats on the telly last night about the lack of success for the Cardinals. Two that spring to mind:

1) there have been eleven US presidents since their last championship win (1947)
2) only the Chicago Cubs - in the four major US sports - have gone longer without a win (100 years)

The Steelers on the other hand will have won more Super Bowls than any other team if they win on Sunday week.

i don't know much about the steelers (or NFL!)... but that hairy dude who made that interception and TD was quality!

Troy Polamalu, one of the top safeties in the NFL. The Cardinals have one of the best players in that position too in the shape of Adrian Wilson.

i find it very difficult to get to know many players in the NFL, as I don't really watch it too much and normally I just enjoy games as a neutral. However he is obviously very recognisable and there was some amazing play in both the games last night. should be a very tasty superbowl!

I know what you mean. The guy I'm really liking at the moment is Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald - that fella has some talent.

Oh Yeaaah

Is the Beeb showing the Superbowl again this year?

yep it is. In Florida this year so should be an hour earlier than last year I would guess

edit: just checked, think KO is the same time

One of the few not to. It's only the Browns, Texans, Jaguars and Lions now who've never been to the big game.

Hard to believe the browns never made it, Texans and Jags are quite new, but what a shame the Lions with Barry Sanders never made the big day. What a phenomenal runner that guy was.

The Browns won their few share of Championships in the pre-Super Bowl era but since the late 60s I think the closest they have come is a couple of AFC Championship games in the late 80s.

Sanders - what a legend. One of the all-time leading rushers despite playing for those clowns.

Can't believe he forgot the No1 Offense of the season.

Anyway, I've just been sent an e-mail informing me that I have 2 tickets to the NFL Superbash at the O2. Anyone been to these things in the past or have tickets for this years event?

I haven't had an email, which I assume means I won't be going
