Good shout...a lot better than some "names" thrown around.
Did like T.V...again ,got rid off coz of non football stuff(like Glenn.H)...sad

Jurgen got a very average US team to the semis of the Copa America. The American players certainly buy into his system and it gets results. They are not an entertaining side to watch, but I don't really want England to entertain me - I just want them to win.

Maybe if people like T.Venables-Hoddle could take over the FA...change it,with input from people like Jurgen.Agree,i want at the moment a WINNING team....but dont think J.K is the man

You are very much in a minority there, as evidenced by the moaning after most England matches. England aren't expected just to win, but to win well and in style.

Very true. I want them to win in style - as in winning decisively with the result never in doubt. I don't want end to end action in Southend and England games - I want the 5-0 drubbing of QPR or the 4-1 thrashing of the Dutch in every game. It's much better for my nerves.

After monday's disgrace I truly couldn't give a toss. It will be the same sad old story, qualify then bomb. It wont make a blind bit of difference who is appointed.

Apparently Southgate doesn't even want in temporarily, let alone full time. I don't blame him, it really is a poison chalice.

I wasn't even aware Gary Lineker had any coaching badges. Or so much as managed a village pub team, let alone an International side.

Mind you, he probably couldn't do any worse.

Just read in the i that the FA are talking to Redknapp, Lineker and Ferdinand - god help us :omg:

Harry redknap...an English manager who actually had success recently.....lineker one of the greatest goalscorers this country has ever produced....Rio Ferdinand won everything at man utd and played over 80 tines for England...whats the problem. Also none of them have been approached for the managers job but just asked opinions etc on future manager.

Well that's a different matter, asking Lineker & co's opinion on a future manager is a completely different kettle of fish to actually taking the job.

And a step i fully agree with. Lack of English options a problem.
How about big Sam??? Would ignore reputations and pick players to play in an effective team.
Pardew? Who knows...some good on his cv ....some not

I'm not impressed with either of those options, although they do seem to be up their as the bookies favourite's.

The problem is though, to be fair, I can't currently think of an English Manager that would be up to the job. Maybe if they wanted to mix it up a bit & employ someone actually under the age of 50, Eddie Howe would get my vote.

Not my preference, I stress! but if I had to guess on the next England manager, & if they only wanted someone who was English, Steve Bruce, might be in the running for the job.

Yes but do they know any more than us on SZ ? :smile:

A German in charge of England!! Not so sure I am a fan of that idea.

The German press think he has a good chance!!
Sacked by Germany,Bayern..not good enough for them,someone wrote the Yanks would like to see him go!!
But England want him????..could be another mess up by "our great " FA

For me there are three possibles;
In no particular order;
Harry with Eddie Howe.
Glenn Hoddle with Shearer.
Big Sam with Phil.:unsure:
