Give it to Southgate for the rest of the season and then appoint Wenger when his contract is up. I normally say the national team manager should be English but Wenger has been in the Premier League for 20 years, knows the English game inside out, and the players would respect him. I think he'd want the job too. There aren't any better English candidates. Pardew would be a bit of a risk after what happened with Allardyce, Howe needs to manage another Premier League club and I wouldn't want his career to be ruined by managing England too soon; and Bruce is being linked with the Villa job.
