T o be honest its not his fault he was injured, lets just hope he is able to get a good preseason in and be trouble free this upcoming season.Corr came back so why cant Harris.A fit Harris and Eastwood would help make Southend a team to be feared along with a fit Corr and hopefully Tomlin,All PB would need to do is get the defence and midfield in order. When you look at it realistically Southend do have the neucleus of a very good side.

Whilst Corr if fit will do a decent job the other 2 are either injured/can't be arsed/too old/and too slow,If Fred and Neil score 20 between them next season then great stuff,Got a feeling though that figure will be beyond them.

yep, i agree with this

The problem people have is that he has been out all season.

He may want to do well for us, but if he never plays thats not going to happen.

Its not his fault, but thats why people are frustrated.

In phillips first season he was out for most of it but fans still love him so why is Harris any different

In his second season he came back and won player of the season, he is several years younger than Harris and most likely on a hell of a lot less.

Difficult decision for Bomber. Assistant manager at a club where he is a legend now, or manager at his boyhood club in October....:whistling:

Doubt he is in line for an Assistant's role here as Penney and Coughlans fill those positions. Moreover his 2 years here haven't set anything alight and what with him being on a handsome wage maybe it is best he is potentially off the wage bill. Probably will be on more if he goes back to the new den.

That must be the departure that The General was on about. I will be sad to see him leave. Will we get a fee for him?

Why would you be sad? He's been here two seasons and done sod all but drain the wage budget.

That's not his fault he got injured. I was looking forward to seeing a fighting fit Neil Harris who in league two when fit should score a few goals and help whoever he is partnered with. If it was any other striker earning a good wage in their 30's I would probably be pleased to see him go. But as he is a Southend United fan he isn't here to earn a wage and just sit on the bench happy or in the treatment room. He wants to do well for us and help us with promotion. Does that answer your question?

Is he? Do you have any proof that he's this great Southend United fan? He's a professional player in the twilight days of his career looking to earn as much as he can before he retires. And why not? Good on him, the life of a pro is very short. But the thing is Ricey my old china, Tara gave him a long and probably expensive contract that could have been spent on younger, fitter and hungrier players.

As I've said previously, 3 yrs at his age was financial madness.

A lot of people would agree with you but that is the deal he was given and that is history. I do not know NH and I admit I had been pleased when he signed for us, even though I wish it had been years earlier. It is a shame he got injured and a shame he did not play more when not injured but again, that's history.

By all accounts he is a thoroughly nice chap and a true professional. Unfortunately, a club in our position needed such a player performing on the pitch and not just writing supportive articles for The Echo. By virtue of circumstance he was signed to be a part of a solution and ended up being a part of the problem. Not his fault. That's life.

It is well documented that he used to watch home games here when He wasn't playing/training at Millwall. The first thing he did when he signed was to get shirts for his children. They had wanted them for ages but he refused to buy them while he played for another club. If he wasn't a fan why did he watch our games and bring his son with him?

Does that answer your question MK :winking: thanks UWS saved me posting it.
