Your right. Maybe the one and I'd take a punt on Clohessy at that level just to see how he copes. Chances are he'd end up as back up but I'd certainly give much thought to giving him a go.

Just don't base him on his displays. Managers are different but if he found someone at CCC level or at the top half of L1 who inspired excellent man management it'll inspire his confidence thus giving him a good opportunity to seize the opportunity. Look at many of Fergies signings at Man Utd. Not all were ready made greats but his style made more often than not got the most out of what were ordinary players. Again I'd take a Punt on clohessy. Another thing in his favour is he has a very good attitude.

With respect I have a genuine pro footie background ast the top level in my family. IF he has a very good man-management manager combined with his good attitude Sean would be worth a punt. I take your point, he may need to prove himself with a reasonable club in L1 but trust me if he succeeded there I wouldn't rule out him having a stab in the 2nd tier.

AN added bonus with Sean also is he still hasn't quite hit peak age yet so time a little still on his side. I wouldn't necessarily judge him towards the end of last season either. The whole team slid for whatever reasoon so unfair to pin that all him. A victim of his own success in a way as he had been faultless and people expect players to be that way all the time when there regarded as being consistent. easier to see with these players when there off colour in their performance.

One last thing that comes to mind. It pains me to say it and I may get shot down on here for saying it but in truth if he has other offers elsehere I'll stick my neck out and say it'll be a mistake on his part if he committs again to us. His given 3 superb seasons here and now is at the age where he needs at least to make that next step up. Another year here and if all goes tits up it could be costly to him personally. Similar to Tilsons managerial career when he stayed here too long and should have gone when I think he had the chance to.

OK. If you are the font of all knowledge as someone in your family was once a pro, then we should all shut up and await a rush of professional CCC managers to have a race for Clohessy's signature?

we will agree to beg to differ.

Glenn Pennyfather came around my house once, not sure if that makes my opinions any more valid ?
