I just don't know, I know were we are in the league, but I think we are awful to watch at the moment infact all season the step down in OUR standards is worrying me increasingly

I agree to an extent, we have been poor at times, but do you not think there has been an improvement ?

I think we have been playing ok recently, some way to go still but the signs are promising.

but i really don't Jam Man, I know you always seem to remember the good more than the bad, BUt I honestly thing we are woeful this season, I feel angry when I leave the ground at the moment and thats not something I have felt for a few years, I am feeling short changed!!!

I think the most disappointing thing this year has been our inability to compete with the top teams in the league. Almost without exception we've been swept aside... We played well against Leeds at home and deserve credit but they were shocking on the night (and reeling from losing their manager). All the good work against Orient was undone by conceding sloppily in the last seconds of the game.

We mustn't overreact as we couldn't be still in with a sniff of the play-offs if we'd been playing as badly as some would have us believe. I've always maintained that our problems are not massive, with a couple of clever tweaks we could be a very, very good team. I think what's frustrating people is that some of the tweaks haven't been addressed.

Compared to other seasons we've had lately, it is a bit hard to take at the moment, and even though we've picked up points, it's hardly been a joy to watch. Leeds were far from inspiring and Hartlepool were appalling.

We're obviously not firing on all cylinders at the moment. In fact, were it not for Macca and Bailey, I suspect we'd be in some trouble, and it doesn't help when someone as influential as Gower is going through a bad patch at the same time.

I do honestly feel though, as others have said, that we are a commanding defender and a bit of confidence away from being a decent team.

Because Tilly wasn't playing him and he wanted to go somewhere and get first team football.

Why we haven't got a replacement in would be a more pertinent question :p

Seems to me it was because we couldn't guarantee him first team football (rightly or wrongly) and he wanted out. Sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I was disappointed we let him go personally.

With no Clarke sat,if fear the worst. He is our best defender by a country mile. With Mulgrew looking very shaky at LB,and Barrett having a bit of a mare at the moment, you will have to excuse me if i dont calm down.

so then clever **** are you honestly happy with the stock we've got at the moment then?? I think we are absloutely appauling at the moment, and honestly are playing no better than how we played under some of our past managers. Absolutely clueless football, can't string passes together, panicking and shacky defence, abysmal up front..........

......of course as you all know I am a wind up merchant and my above post was fishing, my honest opinion is we are doing just fine, I am more than happy to fork out money, take days holiday to watch this unentertaining rubbish week in and week out, I like it jjuuuuuuuuuuuussssst the way it is! remember kids we've got the best midfield in the league....

IMO i think Tilly has taken us as far as possible. Im not sure if i want rid but i dont think he is capable of getting us back into the Champ and staying there. We have had our chance, and we blew it big time.

If I remember the good more than the bad you have to accept you remember the bad more than the good.

If we are woeful why are we still well within a shout of the playoffs and not in the bottom 6 ?

I certainly dont think we are doing great, even when we were in the top 3 I thought it was a false position and our performances didnt warrant it.

I like to think I look at things fairly logically and realistically though and sitting 4 points from playoffs with a game in hand I wouldnt class as woeful and worth getting angry about.

I want us to start playing better and with more confidence but I can see in games against Leeds and Orient that starting to happen.

The facts are our recent form over 6 league games isnt bad : WLWDWL and thats with 4 away games and only 2 home matches !

Yes we need to lift our game but Im not going to sit here getting angry just because we lost two of our last seven games.

Two seasons of promotions have spoilt us....
