I don't like the way he has gone about this after the club stood by him, announcing he doesn't want to play for us and he can do better than us. May as well taken a picture of him middle fingering the Southend crest IMO.

What he said.

Bailey refused to play in the first game of the season and then called in sick a couple of hours before the second.

Compared to mohnsi sulking off to france in the middle of the season or asking permission to turn up late for pre-season training and then saying he was off to a higher level in any case
Just seems very inconsistent to me, condemn them both or make allowances for both

The bloke has good points and bad points but at the end of the day team morale has to come first, so I believe he haas got to go and shouldn't be allowed back, not saying I didn't enjoy watching him mind haha

If you insist on seeing things in only black or white, I guess.

Totally agree especially as the mangement have all bent over backwards to put a sympathetic arm around his shoulder and given him chance after chance putting their own pride and reputations on the line. Having said that I don't blame him one little bit wanting to jump up to the prem if given the chance and I expect that any statement from his camp regarding his feelings for this club could perhaps be muddled in translation and seeming harsher than he really feels. But if we still own his contract for a year ...lets make some money out of him while we can. Bussness is bussness.

Bailey was the best player in the team when he was here but maybe not such an engaging personality and so when he left people did see that situation in black and white. Maybe it's time to re-assess that given the slack being given to Mohnsi?
I feel with Mohnsi that we've tolerated a lot of antics that another player would not have got away with. I understand why that happened - he's a match winner and huge favourite with the fans. But I do feel a little let down that he's now decided he wants to go elsewhere. He's also potentially placing himself in a very tricky situation if the trial does not work out. Are we all supposed to welcome him back with open arms until the next time he wants out or throws a strop?

Nicky Bailey forced the club to sell him literally as the season was starting. He was the player who the club had built their entire team around all pre-season and then he calls in sick and forces a move to a club one division above us.

We know next to nothing about what is or isn't happening with Mohsni. What we do know is that we're not playing a game for five weeks. We can also guess that Mohsni wouldn't have been a guaranteed starter looking at the squad as it is at the moment and certainly wouldn't have been the player that we are built around. We also know that he has been given a trial at a club three divisions above us.

You say that we've tolerated all these antics. Maybe we have. In which case we have a player who has caused us bother who we can potentially move on for cash with loads of time to bring in a replacement and plan for next season and give the player an unbelievable opportunity to go from part-time football to the second highest ranked league in Europe in just over two years. It seems win-win for me.

I'm disappointed to see him go because I liked him as a player and from what I can tell as a bloke as well. And if we can't move him on in the next month and he starts causing bother back here then maybe I'll feel more negatively towards him but it seems like a very difference case from the Nicky Bailey one.

I lost patience with him in the cup against Crawley early last season, when he was needlessly booked for a clumsy tackle and then went raging around seeming intent to get sent off - which not surprisingly he did. Not long after that he run 40 yards against Gillingham (I think), to kick the corner flag (****).

The fact he has gone AWOL, refusing to take part in pre-season training despite having 12 months on his contract is quite frankly just another show of disrespect towards a club that showed such faith in him. It will more than likely mean we will receive a smaller sum for his services too.

Conclusion: F*ck off you sh*t bag.

He didn't get sent off. Dickinson did though.

Surely if the Premier League side invited him for a trial this is equivalent to tapping up a contracted player? If it was Bilel's agent talking to other clubs, then I assume this was at his request and therefore he's disloyal to SUFC. Thanks for the good times Bilel, I hope you get the future career you deserve!

While i am disappointed with the way this has unfolded I do wish him all the best, but still feel as if he has treated the club with contempt. Another point, what if no one signs him??? does he just come back with his tail between his legs

Supporting Southend you have to accept that the better players will eventually leave for a bigger club, so Moshni's departure doesn't surprise me - he is a good player.

I'm disappointed with the way it seems to have come about with him not showing for pre-season, but I wonder if the club new he was off all along anyway. I hope he does well and fulfills his potential but you can't help thinking he'll ruin it somehow.

Overall during his time at the club he let himself down on several occasions, the club too. I wish we'd have seen more of him at centre back cos that's his best position. Disappointed with him for a number of reasons but primarily because he should have done better for us than he actually did.

I think now he's gone the squad's harmony will undoubtedly improve and the fact that Moshni's ability kind of forced him into the starting eleven in any position was at the detriment of the team on occasions. His leaving the club will give us a better balance throughout the team and I hope we now see the David Martin I hoped we'd signed on the left wing.

Overall, whatever your thoughts on Moshni...it was never dull!!

Mohsni's contract expired at the end of June so from May onwards he was entitled to speak to any club. Had we not wanted him to do so then we should have taken up the option on his contract sooner.

Agents talk to clubs all day every day. That's what they're there for.

To some extent I am playing devil's advocate by comparing Mohsni to Bailey as I'm sure you're aware, FWIW you're one of the posters on here whose views I respect more than most, and TBH I accept what you're saying about Mohsni in the above post.
One last thing on Bailey - was he one of the players transfer listed by Ron Martin in the summer before he left? I remember RM spitting the dummy out and transfer listing several (including Macca and Francis) because contract negotiations weren't going to his liking. I think Bailey was one (happy to be corrected if he wasn't) but if he was I would say it is a factor that maybe should have been borne in mind in the general condemnation of him.

How does Mohsni's desire to play at a higher level differ from that of Nicky Bailey's desire for his 'dream move' to a club at a higher level?

Baileys was marginally worse as he was alleged to have refused to play for us on the eve of the season. Moshni has said he is reluctant to train with us. However is given us say 5 weeks before the season starts. Moshni also did two seasons where as I think Baiey did just one.

I will definitely miss him, I think if he does stay with us next season, he will give it his all as that is the way he plays... sometimes too much obviously but still. I will be saying good luck and thanks for making the games entertaining, lets face it if he wasn't here, we would have really gouged our eyes out.

Let's be honest, he's far better than anything Sturrock is likely to pick up this year so i'm afraid it is a big loss. Didn't see any world beaters on Saturday in fact although it was difficult conditions Wet Sham managed to look half decent and we looked pretty hopeless. Time will tell but i'm afraid bitter and twisted's Mohsni is too good for SUFC.

Not even close to being a legend, but was fun, and some good performances, so its good luck from me.

On the whole though i'm looking forward to next season being a bit less of a circus then the last one.
