I don't like the way he has gone about this after the club stood by him, announcing he doesn't want to play for us and he can do better than us. May as well taken a picture of him middle fingering the Southend crest IMO.

I agree True Blue,i've met him a few times outside the game he always had time to talk & chat to ordinary fans like me.
his enthusiasm for playing football was evident and he shared with me he hoped one day to play at Wembley and for France.
I dont see that same sort of enthusiasm in some British players sadly and i wasnt surprised relations with some of the players last Season deteriorated,I dont think Bilel was totally innocent but some of the players comments should have stayed in the dressing room and the dissent towards an individual player should have been stamped on.

bit of both really, was a bit of a naughty b******d on the pitch but never the less a good player aswell, so i for one wish him all the beat and also hope we get the right money for him.

The Club statement doesn't say that he has refused to turn up for pre-season. It says that he wants to move on, that his Agent has got him a trial at a Premier League club and that therefore Mohsni is reluctant to come back.

We don't know if it has gone as far as the Club ordering him to come back and Mohsni refusing.
Good luck to the player if he wants to better himself, nowt wrong with that, what i fail to understand is his reluctants to come back and train with us. What does he think going to happen, also i assume we are still paying his wages, and is still contracted to us.

can we please put this 'does not want to play for us' into context

His agent has advised him that he is good enough for championship, in fact he has managed to get him a tial at a premiership club. How often does tha happen to second div footballers?
He wants to play for a decent side , may be if we were a decent side he would want to play for us ?- He is not looking to move sideways, he wants to move upwards , who can blame him for that ?

Many of our players maybe do not have the desire to play at championship levels, or in some (many?) cases simply do not have the talent to do so . He ahs the desire and on his day has the talent . If it all fails at least he will have tried

and lets stop the legend bashing he is getting. One, maybe two people have said it and thats it , so it clearly is not the view of most fans as has been made clear on here. By mentioning it just brings our more anti Moshni feelings and rhetoric

My main issue is the disrespect. He obviously wants to move to a bigger club, and there is nothing wrong with that.

But if the club statement is true, he has stayed in France when under the terms of his contract he should have reported for pre-season training. With the fans wondering where he is, this has put the club in the position of declaring that he hasn't come back, meaning any fee we get for him will be decidedly less because clubs know we can't keep hold of him now.

After the club stuck by him through thick and thin, the very least he could do is go through the proper channels, ie return to training on time as his contract dictates, hand in a transfer request and continue giving 100 per cent for us until he gets the move he wants. The fact he seems to feel he is above this standard protocol is a two-fingered salute to the club and therefore the fans.

Close the door on your way out.

I think his agent has been responsible for all this mess.

An agent is only an advisor, you don't have to listen to him if he's talking bollocks.

Thanks for the good times, the excellent rapport with the fanbase and the excitement on the pitch, however, the excitement off the pitch was most unwelcome and unnecessary. Good luck, but pleased to lose someone who is a bit of a loose cannon at times.

I think you're reading way too much into it. Again, the statement doesn't say that he has refused to come back. He was still in France with permission from the Club. His agent has got him a fantastic potential opportunity at another club and we've agreed to give him that chance. I don't see why that will mean anything in terms of increasing or decreasing the transfer fee. If ultimately the West Ham move doesn't happen and he refuses to come back here then yeah that may impact a transfer fee later, but we're not at that point yet.

A criticism of those who might have directed him better ?

Other players seem to take the direction ok.

Mohsni's issues have always been what is going on in his head, only he can sort that out. Saying others should have done better removes the responsibility he has to act in a 'not mad as a bag of badgers way'....

I think if you go through the post, most on here have wished him luck, and he has every right to better himself. What i fail to understand is whenever there is a problem between him and the club he goes missing.

How does Mohsni's desire to play at a higher level differ from that of Nicky Bailey's desire for his 'dream move' to a club at a higher level?

Bailey refused to play in the first game of the season and then called in sick a couple of hours before the second.
