so, 2 questions.... 1) are we under the E word, and 2) are we signing Reeves and Mkandwire

1. Yes I believe so. Well we were last time I was told, which was Friday.
2. Subject to the above, yes.

I still don't understand why we signed Reeves on deadline day. I thought the point of getting him in during the transfer window was so it could be extended until the end of the season.

Im sure im right in thinking that we will wait until 18/3/13 before we resign Reeves. That way he can be available for the remainder of the season including playoffs. Mkandwire can only be with us for a month in total, so im guessing they are waiting unitl he gets fit again and then possibly resign him. However, PS did say that he hoped to keep Lund til the end of the season and with Laird back in training today and Spillane coming back into a bit of form on Saturday things dont look quite do desperate.

Um bongo in the hizzy. Although with tomlin and laird back soon and a confidence boisting win on saturday and the return of mohsni do we need him I know he was good but the main bonus of having him here was the freeing up of timlin to roam at will. Without timlin would the tam effect be so noticeable.

Yes. Tam has a lot of experience, and also has experience of winning promotion from L2. People say it freed Timlin up to play a more effective game and this may be true, I think most are ignoring the effect Tam had on our improved defensive record while he was here though and that could be a big factor in us reaching the play-offs. Add to this the fact that he played with Laird at Millwall and they have a good understanding in the middle and for me it's a no-brainer. I'm not having a dig at Spillane or Lund but if it came to a choice of who I'd have to partner Laird in CM out of those 3 it would be Mkandawire every time. Even if only for a month it could ultimately make the difference in whether we accumulate enough points to reach the play-offs.

But then what is the point of reaching the play offs if he goes back and we stand no chance of winning?

I can't for the life of me understand this statement. So you'd rather we don't re-sign Mkandawire and possibly miss out on the play-offs cos "we're not gonna win them anyway?" And who says we'd have no chance in the play-offs? We do better against the top teams than the bottom and we have some very good players returning from injury. You're gonna have to help me out here JB as I really don't understand your point.....

Good shout we were so much better defensively with Tam in there, just stopped the opposition operating in dangerous areas in front of the back four.

I am not saying that we can not win it, you are pretty much stating that if we don't sign him we will not get play offs, by which you are basically saying we can't do it without him.I personally think we can do it with or without him, god knows the ability is there. Now I know you are going to say that is not what you meant, however our season does not ride upon 1 player who is not and probably will not be with us!

No it doesn't and yes I still believe we can make the play-offs with or without Mkandawire (at no point did I say that we couldn't!). However surely you want us to give ourselves the best possible chance of making the play-offs, Tam's return would certainly be a boost to our chances therefore it's a no-brainer in my book, if the embargo is lifted and he is able to re-sign then we should get him back in. Yes it's only for a month but a player of his quality COULD (yes COULD not WILL) certainly improve our chances of picking up more points in that month than they would do with Spillane in the side doing the same job. That's not a dig at Spillane but in terms of quality we're talking on 2 different levels, Mkandawire showed in his previous spell that he is a far superior player. And let's not forget we have a LOT of games to play in that month too, plenty of points to pick up - and if we have the chance to re-sign Tam but don't and then miss out on the top 7 by a couple of points it will have been a huge mistake......

All I hope is that we don't play like utter tat tonight like we have for the past 2 months, and then we can take each game as it comes! We have the ability, just need to show it!
